We develop a practical method to analyze the mixing structure of hadrons consisting of two components of quark-composite and hadronic composite. As an example we investigate the properties of the axial vector meson a1(1260) and discuss its mixing properties quantitatively. We also make reference to the large Nc procedure and its limitation for the classification of such a mixed state.

We present a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay B^0->a1+(1260)pi- with a1+->pi+pi+pi- using a data sample containing 535x10^6 BBbar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider operating at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure the branching fraction Br(B^0->a1+pi-)Br(a1+->pi+pi+pi-) = (14.9 +- 1.6 +- 2.3)x10^-6, where the first and second errors are statistical and systematic, respectively.
We evaluate the $a_1(1260) to pi sigma (f_0(500))$ decay width from the perspective that the $a_1(1260)$ resonance is dynamically generated from the pseudoscalar-vector interaction and the $sigma$ arises from the pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar interaction . A triangle mechanism with $a_1(1260) to rho pi$ followed by $rho to pi pi$ and a fusion of two pions within the loop to produce the $sigma$ provides the mechanism for this decay under these assumptions for the nature of the two resonances. We obtain widths of the order of $13-22$ MeV. Present experimental results differ substantially from each other, suggesting that extra efforts should be devoted to the precise extraction of this important partial decay width, which should provide valuable information on the nature of the axial vector and scalar meson resonances and help clarify the role of the $pisigma$ channel in recent lattice QCD calculations of the $a_1$.

To understand the upper limits or potentials of metabolism, the theory of evolution needs to be defined from the mathematical and physical points of view. In this study, we proposed that life is a self-reproducing and self-accelerating open chemical system. Cell membrane and division are not necessary for life. Being alive is a status that life competes for energy and matters through complex metabolism. Evolution is the dynamic performance of life system. According to the scales of life activities, this study roughly classified life activities at the molecular, cellular, individual, ecological, and biogeochemical (atomic) levels, and summarized several new orders or laws which have been introduced with the increase of level, and analyzed the relationship between these laws and the evolution from simple to complex. Then we proposed a concept, that is, life not only obeys the mathematical and physical laws, but also evolves complex and ingenious methods to gradually use or avoid or even against the effects of natures laws on life activities. To survive in a complex and changing environment, organisms significantly influence themselves at all five levels of life activities, and the whole biosphere can be considered as a huge feedback loop. The accelerated development of human civilization indicates that the feedback loop runs faster and faster. Based on previous studies and the present study, we propose that feedback regulation constantly drives the evolution of organisms due to the limitations of metabolism in a complex and changing environment.
We consider the fidelity of the vector meson dominance (VMD) assumption as an instrument for relating the electromagnetic vector-meson production reaction $e + p to e^prime + V + p$ to the purely hadronic process $V + p to V+p$. Analyses of the photo n vacuum polarisation and the photon-quark vertex reveal that such a VMD Ansatz might be reasonable for light vector-mesons. However, when the vector-mesons are described by momentum-dependent bound-state amplitudes, VMD fails for heavy vector-mesons: it cannot be used reliably to estimate either a photon-to-vector-meson transition strength or the momentum dependence of those integrands that would arise in calculations of the different reaction amplitudes. Consequently, for processes involving heavy mesons, the veracity of both cross-section estimates and conclusions based on the VMD assumption should be reviewed, e.g., those relating to hidden-charm pentaquark production and the origin of the proton mass.
On the basis of the three fundamental principles of (i) Poincar{e} symmetry of space time, (ii) electromagnetic gauge symmetry, and (iii) unitarity, we construct an universal Lagrangian for the electromagnetic interactions of elementary vector partic les, i.e., massive spin-1 particles transforming in the /1/2,1/2) representation space of the Homogeneous Lorentz Group (HLG). We make the point that the first two symmetries alone do not fix the electromagnetic couplings uniquely but solely prescribe a general Lagrangian depending on two free parameters, here denoted by xi and g. The first one defines the electric-dipole and the magnetic-quadrupole moments of the vector particle, while the second determines its magnetic-dipole and electric-quadrupole moments. In order to fix the parameters one needs an additional physical input suited for the implementation of the third principle. As such, one chooses Compton scattering off a vector target and requires the cross section to respect the unitarity bounds in the high energy limit. In result, we obtain the universal g=2, and xi=0 values which completely characterize the electromagnetic couplings of the considered elementary vector field at tree level. The nature of this vector particle, Abelian versus non-Abelian, does not affect this structure. Merely, a partition of the g=2 value into non-Abelian, g_{na}, and Abelian, g_{a}=2-g_{na}, contributions occurs for non-Abelian fields with the size of g_{na} being determined by the specific non-Abelian group appearing in the theory of interest, be it the Standard Model or any other theory.
