There exist local infinitesimal redefinitions of the fermionic fields, which may be used to modify the strength of the coupling for the interaction term in massless QED3. Under those (formally unitary) transformations, the functional integration measure changes by an anomalous Jacobian, which (after regularization) yields a term with the same structure as the quadratic parity-conserving term in the effective action. Besides, the Dirac operator is affected by the introduction of new terms, apart from the modification in the minimal coupling term. We show that the result coming from the Jacobian, plus the effect of those new terms, add up to reproduce the exact quadratic term in the effective action. Finally, we also write down the form a finite decoupling transformation would have, and comment on the unlikelihood of that transformation to yield a helpful answer to the non-perturbative evaluation of the fermionic determinant.

We construct, by a procedure involving a dimensional reduction from a Chern-Simons theory with borders, an effective theory for a 1+1 dimensional superconductor. 1That system can be either in an ordinary phase or in a topological one, depending on th e value of two phases, corresponding to complex order parameters. Finally, we argue that the original theory and its dimensionally reduced one can be related to the effective action for a quantum Dirac field in a slab geometry, coupled to a gauge field.
We consider minimally supersymmetric QCD in 2+1 dimensions, with Chern-Simons and superpotential interactions. We propose an infrared $SU(N) leftrightarrow U(k)$ duality involving gauge-singlet fields on one of the two sides. It shares qualitative fe atures both with 3d bosonization and with 4d Seiberg duality. We provide a few consistency checks of the proposal, mapping the structure of vacua and performing perturbative computations in the $varepsilon$-expansion.

In this paper we consider 2+1-dimensional gravity coupled to N point-particles. We introduce a gauge in which the $z$- and $bar{z}$-components of the dreibein field become holomorphic and anti-holomorphic respectively. As a result we can restrict our selves to the complex plane. Next we show that solving the dreibein-field: $e^a_z(z)$ is equivalent to solving the Riemann-Hilbert problem for the group $SO(2,1)$. We give the explicit solution for 2 particles in terms of hypergeometric functions. In the N-particle case we give a representation in terms of conformal field theory. The dreibeins are expressed as correlators of 2 free fermion fields and twistoperators at the position of the particles.
Using the techniques developed in arxiv: 1203.3544 we compute the universal part of the equilibrium partition function characteristic of a theory with multiple abelian U(1) anomalies in arbitrary even spacetime dimensions. This contribution is closel y linked to the universal anomaly induced transport coefficients in hydrodynamics which have been studied before using entropy techniques. Equilibrium partition function provides an alternate and a microscopically more transparent way to derive the constraints on these transport coefficients. We re-derive this way all the known results on these transport coefficients including their polynomial structure which has recently been conjectured to be linked to the anomaly polynomial of the theory. Further we link the local description of anomaly induced transport in terms of a Gibbs current to the more global description in terms of the partition function .
We consider a supersymmetric Bogomolny-type model in 2+1 dimensions originating from twistor string theory. By a gauge fixing this model is reduced to a modified U(n) chiral model with N<=8 supersymmetries in 2+1 dimensions. After a Moyal-type deform ation of the model, we employ the dressing method to explicitly construct multi-soliton configurations on noncommutative R^{2,1} and analyze some of their properties.
