We confirm that all the results of scanning SQUID, tunneling, ARPES, penetration depth and Raman experiments are consistent with a nonmonotonic d_{x^2-y^2} superconducting order parameter proposed in Phys. Rev. Lett., 88, 107002 (2002).

Low energy polarized electronic Raman scattering of the electron doped superconductor Nd_1.85Ce_0.15CuO_4 (T_c=22 K) has revealed a nonmonotonic d_{x^2-y^2} superconducting order parameter. It has a maximum gap of 4.4 k_BT_c at Fermi surface intersec tions with antiferromagnetic Brillouin zone (the ``hot spots) and a smaller gap of 3.3 k_BT_c at fermionic Brillouin zone boundaries. The gap enhancement in the vicinity of the ``hot spots emphasizes role of antiferromagnetic fluctuations and similarity in the origin of superconductivity for electron- and hole-doped cuprates.
We consider the lifetime of quasi-particles in a d-wave superconductor due to scattering from antiferromagnetic spin-fluctuations, and explicitly separate the contribution from Umklapp processes which determines the electrical conductivity. Results f or the temperature dependence of the total scattering rate and the Umklapp scattering rate are compared with relaxation rates obtained from thermal and microwave conductivity measurements, respectively.
Motivated by the recent observation of superconductivity in strontium doped NdNiO$_2$, we study the superconducting instabilities in this system from various vantage points. Starting with first-principles calculations, we construct two distinct tight -binding models, a simpler single-orbital as well as a three-orbital model, both of which capture the key low energy degrees of freedom to varying degree of accuracy. We study superconductivity in both models using the random phase approximation (RPA). We then analyze the problem at stronger coupling, and study the dominant pairing instability in the associated t-J model limit. In all instances, the dominant pairing tendency is in the $d_{x^2-y^2}$ channel, analogous to the cuprate superconductors.
We use coherent pump-probe spectroscopy to measure the photoinduced reflectivity DeltaR, and complex dielectric function, {delta}in, of the electron-doped cuprate superconductor Nd_{2-x}Ce_xCuO_{4+delta} at a value of x near optimal doping, as a func tion of time, temperature, and laser fluence. We observe the onset of a negative DeltaR at T=85 K, above the superconducting transition temperature, T_c, of 23 K, that exhibits a form of scaling consistent with critical fluctuations in the time domain. A positive Delta R onsets at T_c that we associate with superconducting order. We find that the two signals are strongly coupled below T_c, in a manner that suggests a repulsive interaction between superconductivity and antiferromagnetic correlations.
The out-of-plane resistivity ($rho_c$) and magnetoresistivity (MR) are studied in antiferromangetic (AF) $Nd_{2-x}Ce_xCuO_{4}$ single crystals, which have three types of noncollinear antiferromangetic spin structures. The apparent signatures are obse rved in $rho_c(T)$ measured at the zero-field and 14 T at the spin structure transitions, giving a definite evidence for the itinerant electrons directly coupled to the localized spins. One of striking feature is an anisotropy of the MR with a fourfold symmetry upon rotating the external field (B) within ab plane in the different phases, while twofold symmetry at spin reorientation transition temperatures. The intriguing thermal hysteresis in $rho_c(T,B)$ and magnetic hysteresis in MR are observed at spin reorientation transition temperatures.
