In this paper we attempt to examine the possibility of construction of a traversable wormhole on the Randall-Sundrum braneworld with ordinary matter employing the Kuchowicz potential as one of the metric potentials. In this scenario, the wormhole shape function is obtained and studied, along with validity of Null Energy Condition (NEC) and the junction conditions at the surface of the wormhole are used to obtain a few of the model parameters. The investigation, besides giving an estimate for the bulk equation of state parameter, draws important constraints on the brane tension which is a novel attempt in this aspect and very interestingly the constraints imposed by a physically plausible traversable wormhole is in high confirmity with those drawn from more general space-times or space-time independent situations involved in fundamental physics. Also, we go on to claim that the possible existence of a wormhole may very well indicate that we live on a three-brane universe.
In this paper, we develop an iterative approach to span the whole set of exotic matter models able to drive a traversable wormhole. The method, based on a Taylor expansion of metric and stress-energy tensor components in a neighbourhood of the wormho
We compute the renormalized expectation value of the square of a massless, conformally coupled, quantum scalar field on the brane of a higher-dimensional black hole. Working in the AADD brane-world scenario, the extra dimensions are flat and we assum
Adopting Diracs brane variation prescription, the energy-momentum tensor of a brane gets supplemented by a geometrical (embedding originated) dark component. While the masslessness of the graviton is preserved, and the Newton force law is recovered,
We analytically study the non-linear stability of a spherically symmetric wormhole supported by an infinitesimally thin brane of negative tension, which has been devised by Barcelo and Visser. We consider a situation in which a thin spherical shell c
The matter creation model of Prigogine--Geheniau--Gunzig--Nardone is revisited in terms of a redefined creation pressure which does not lead to irreversible adiabatic evolution at constant specific entropy. With the resulting freedom to choose a part
