With the uncertainty of the optical clocks improving to the order of 10-18, the probe light used to detect the clock transition has demonstrated nonnegligible Stark shift, provoking to precisely evaluate this shift. Here, we demonstrate a frequency modulation technique to realize a large measurement lever arm of the probe Stark shift with no cost of the measurement accuracy of the interleaved stabilization method. This frequency-modulated spectrum is theoretical described and experimental verified. The probe Stark shift coefficient of the 87Sr optical lattice clock is experimentally determined as -(45.97+/-3.51) Hz/(W/cm2) using this frequency modulation spectroscopy.

We report a frequency measurement of the 1S0-3P0 transition of 87Sr atoms in an optical lattice clock. The frequency is determined to be 429 228 004 229 879 (5) Hz with a fractional uncertainty that is comparable to state-of-the-art optical clocks wi th neutral atoms in free fall. Two previous measurements of this transition were found to disagree by about 2x10^{-13}, i.e. almost four times the combined error bar, instilling doubt on the potential of optical lattice clocks to perform at a high accuracy level. In perfect agreement with one of these two values, our measurement essentially dissipates this doubt.

We present a new evaluation of an 87Sr optical lattice clock using spin polarized atoms. The frequency of the 1S0-3P0 clock transition is found to be 429 228 004 229 873.6 Hz with a fractional accuracy of 2.6 10^{-15}, a value that is comparable to t he frequency difference between the various primary standards throughout the world. This measurement is in excellent agreement with a previous one of similar accuracy.
We demonstrate the absence of a DC Stark shift in an ytterbium optical lattice clock. Stray electric fields are suppressed through the introduction of an in-vacuum Faraday shield. Still, the effectiveness of the shielding must be experimentally asses sed. Such diagnostics are accomplished by applying high voltage to six electrodes, which are grounded in normal operation to form part of the Faraday shield. Our measurements place a constraint on the DC Stark shift at the $10^{-20}$ level, in units of the clock frequency. Moreover, we discuss a potential source of error in strategies to precisely measure or cancel non-zero DC Stark shifts, attributed to field gradients coupled with the finite spatial extent of the lattice-trapped atoms. With this consideration, we find that Faraday shielding, complemented with experimental validation, provides both a practically appealing and effective solution to the problem of DC Stark shifts in optical lattice clocks.
Collisions with background gas can perturb the transition frequency of trapped ions in an optical atomic clock. We develop a non-perturbative framework based on a quantum channel description of the scattering process, and use it to derive a master eq uation which leads to a simple analytic expression for the collisional frequency shift. As a demonstration of our method, we calculate the frequency shift of the Sr$^+$ optical atomic clock transition due to elastic collisions with helium.
We report a measurement of the absolute frequency of the 1S0-3P0 transition in the 171Yb optical lattice clock at KRISS (KRISS-Yb1) for 14 months, which was referenced to the SI second by primary and secondary standards worldwide via TAI (Internation al Atomic Time). The determined absolute frequency is 518 295 836 590 863.75(14) Hz with the relative frequency uncertainty of 2.6x10^-16, which agrees well with other reports. This result is expected to contribute to the future update of the CIPM recommendation frequency of the secondary frequency standards.
