We present high frequency measurements of the vortex dynamics of a FeSe$_x$Te$_{1-x}$ ($x=0.5$) thin film grown on a CaF$_2$ substrate and with a critical temperature $T_csimeq18;$K, performed by means of a dual frequency dielectric resonator at 16.4 GHz and 26.6 GHz. We extract and discuss various important vortex parameters related to the pinning properties of the sample, such as the characteristic frequency $ u_c$, the pinning constant $k_p$ and the pinning barrier height $U$ relevant for creep phenomena. We find that the vortex system is in the single-vortex regime, and that pinning attains relatively high values in terms of $k_p$, indicating significant pinning at the high frequencies here studied. The pinning barrier energy $U$ is quite small and exhibits a non-monotonous temperature dependence with a maximum near 12 K. This result is discussed in terms of core pinning of small portion of vortices of size $proptoxi^3$ jumping out of the pinning wells over very small distances, a process which is favoured in the high frequency, short ranged vortex oscillations here explored.

We report measurements of the complex resistivity in $YBCO$ and $MgB_2$ thin films over a continuous frequency spectrum in the microwave range, making use of a Corbino disk geometry. The paper mainly focuses on the extraction of the resistivity from raw data, displaying data analisys procedure and its limits of validity. We obtain and show resistivity curves as a function of frequency and temperature denoting a frequency dependent widening of the superconductive transition.
We report on the anisotropy of the vortex motion surface impedance of a fst thin film grown on a CaF$_2$ substrate. The dependence on the magnetic field intensity up to 1.2 T and direction, both parallel and perpendicular to the sample $c$-axis, was explored at fixed temperature at two distinct frequencies, $sim16;$GHz and $sim27;$GHz, by means of bitonal dielectric resonator. The free flux flow resistivity $rho_{ff}$ was obtained by exploiting standard models for the high frequency dynamics, whereas the angle dependence was studied in the framework of the well known and widely used Blatter-Geshkenbein-Larkin (BGL) scaling theory for anistropic superconductors. Excellent agreement with the scaling law prescription by the fluxon flux flow resistivity was obtained. From the scaling analysis, a low-field mass anisotropy $sim1.8$ was obtained, well within the value ranges reported in literature. The angular dependence of the pinning constant suggests that pinning is dominated by random, isotropic point pins, consistently with critical current density measurements.
The dynamics of magnetic field penetration into thin-walled superconducting niobium cylinders is experimentally investigated. It is shown that magnetic field penetrates through the wall of a cylinder in a series of giant jumps with amplitude 10 - 20 Oe and duration of a few $mu$s. The jumps take place when the total current in the wall, not the current density, exceeds some critical value. In addition there are small jumps and/or smooth penetration, and their contribution can reach 20% of the total penetrating flux. It is demonstrated that the magnetic field inside the cylinder exhibits several oscillations. The number of giant jumps reduces with temperature.
Nb$_{3}$Sn is a superconductor of great relevance for perspective RF applications. We present for the first time surface impedance $Z_s$ measurements at 15 GHz and low RF field amplitude on Nb$_{3}$Sn in high magnetic fields up to 12 T, with the aim of increasing the knowledge of Nb$_{3}$Sn behavior in such conditions. $Z_s$ is a fundamental material parameter that directly gives useful information about the dissipative and reactive phenomena when the superconductor is subjected to high-frequency excitations. Therefore, we present an analysis of the measured $Z_s$ with the aim of extracting interesting data about pinning in Nb$_{3}$Sn at high frequencies. From $Z_s$ we extract the vortex motion complex resistivity to obtain the $r$-parameter and the depinning frequency $ u_p$ in high magnetic fields. The comparison of the results with the literature shows that the measured $ u_p$ on bulk Nb$_{3}$Sn is several times greater than that of pure Nb. This demonstrates how Nb$_{3}$Sn can be a good candidate for RF technological applications, also in high magnetic fields.
The hexatic fluid refers to a phase in between a solid and a liquid which has short range positional order but quasi-long range orientational order. In the celebrated theory of Berezinskii, Kosterlitz and Thouless and subsequently refined by Halperin , Nelson and Young, it was predicted that a 2-dimensional hexagonal solid can melt in two steps: first, through a transformation from a solid to a hexatic fluid which retains quasi long range orientational order and then from a hexatic fluid to an isotropic liquid. In this paper, using a combination of real space imaging and transport measurements we show that the 2-dimensional vortex lattice in a-MoGe thin film follows this sequence of melting as the magnetic field is increased. Identifying the signatures of various transitions on the bulk transport properties of the superconductor, we construct a vortex phase diagram for a two dimensional superconductor.
