We study synchronization in a two-node network built out of the smallest possible self-sustained oscillator: a spin 1. We first demonstrate that phase locking between the quantum oscillators can be achieved, even for limit cycles that cannot be synchronized to an external semi-classical signal. Building upon the analytical description of the system, we then clarify the relation between quantum synchronization and the generation of entanglement. These findings establish the spin-based architecture as a promising platform for understanding synchronization in complex quantum networks.

Quantum entanglement between two or more bipartite entities is a core concept in quantum information areas limited to microscopic regimes directly governed by Heisenberg uncertainty principle via quantum superposition, resulting in nondeterministic a nd probabilistic quantum features. Such quantum features cannot be generated by classical means. Here, a pure classical method of on-demand entangled light-pair generation is presented in a macroscopic regime via basis randomness. This conflicting idea of conventional quantum mechanics invokes a fundamental question about both classicality and quantumness, where superposition is key to its resolution.
We present a scheme to describe the dynamics of accelerating discrete-time quantum walk for one- and two-particle in position space. We show the effect of acceleration in enhancing the entanglement between the particle and position space in one-parti cle quantum walk and in generation of entanglement between the two unentangled particle in two-particle quantum walk. By introducing the disorder in the form of phase operator we study the transition from localization to delocalization as a function of acceleration. These inter-winding connection between acceleration, entanglement generation and localization along with well established connection of quantum walks with Dirac equation can be used to probe further in the direction of understanding the connection between acceleration, mass and entanglement in relativistic quantum mechanics and quantum field theory. Expansion of operational tools for quantum simulations and for modelling quantum dynamics of accelerated particle using quantum walks is an other direction where these results can play an important role.

We investigate the dynamics of quantum entanglement and more general quantum correlations quantified respectively via negativity and local quantum uncertainty for two qubit systems undergoing Markovian collective dephasing. Focusing on a two-paramete r family of initial two-qubit density matrices, we study the relation of the emergence of the curious phenomenon of time-invariant entanglement and the dynamical behavior of local quantum uncertainty. Developing an illustrative geometric approach, we demonstrate the existence of distinct regions of quantum entanglement for the considered initial states and identify the region that allows for completely frozen entanglement throughout the dynamics, accompanied by generation of local quantum uncertainty. Furthermore, we present a systematic analysis of different dynamical behaviors of local quantum uncertainty such as its sudden change or smooth amplification, in relation with the dynamics of entanglement.

The {it exchange} interaction arising from the particle indistinguishability is of central importance to physics of many-particle quantum systems. Here we study analytically the dynamical generation of quantum entanglement induced by this interaction in an isolated system, namely, an ideal Fermi gas confined in a chaotic cavity, which evolves unitarily from a non-Gaussian pure state. We find that the breakdown of the quantum-classical correspondence of particle motion, via dramatically changing the spatial structure of many-body wavefunction, leads to profound changes of the entanglement structure. Furthermore, for a class of initial states, such change leads to the approach to thermal equilibrium everywhere in the cavity, with the well-known Ehrenfest time in quantum chaos as the thermalization time. Specifically, the quantum expectation values of various correlation functions at different spatial scales are all determined by the Fermi-Dirac distribution. In addition, by using the reduced density matrix (RDM) and the entanglement entropy (EE) as local probes, we find that the gas inside a subsystem is at equilibrium with that outside, and its thermal entropy is the EE, even though the whole system is in a pure state. As a by-product of this work, we provide an analytical solution supporting an important conjecture on thermalization, made and numerically studied by Garrison and Grover in: Phys. Rev. X textbf{8}, 021026 (2018), and strengthen its statement.
Quantum simulation of spin models can provide insight into complex problems that are difficult or impossible to study with classical computers. Trapped ions are an established platform for quantum simulation, but only systems with fewer than 20 ions have demonstrated quantum correlations. Here we study non-equilibrium, quantum spin dynamics arising from an engineered, homogeneous Ising interaction in a two-dimensional array of $^9$Be$^+$ ions in a Penning trap. We verify entanglement in the form of spin-squeezed states for up to 219 ions, directly observing 4.0$pm$0.9 dB of spectroscopic enhancement. We also observe evidence of non-Gaussian, over-squeezed states in the full counting statistics. We find good agreement with ab-initio theory that includes competition between entanglement and decoherence, laying the groundwork for simulations of the transverse-field Ising model with variable-range interactions, for which numerical solutions are, in general, classically intractable.
