A search for associated production of a $Z$ boson with an open charm meson is presented using a data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1.0,mathrm{fb}^{-`}$ of proton--proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7,TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment. %% Seven candidate events for associated production of a $Z$ boson with a $D^0$ meson and four candidate events for a $Z$ boson with a $D^+$ meson are observed with a combined significance of 5.1standard deviations. The production cross-sections in the forward region are measured to be $$sigma_{Zrightarrowmu^+mu^-!,D^0} = 2.50pm1.12pm0.22pb$$ $$sigma_{Zrightarrowmu^+mu^-!,D^+} = 0.44pm0.23pm0.03pb,$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
Top quark production in the forward region in proton-proton collisions is observed for the first time. The $W!+!b$ final state with $Wtomu u$ is reconstructed using muons with a transverse momentum, $p_{rm T}$, larger than 25 GeV in the pseudorapidit
The leading-order process for the production of a Z boson and a heavy-quark jet at hadron colliders is gQ -> ZQ (Q=c,b). We calculate this cross section at next-to-leading order at the Tevatron and the LHC, and compare it with other sources of ZQ eve
We present a new limit on the production of a light dark-force mediator with the KLOE detector at DAPHNE. This boson, called U, has been searched for in the decay phi --> eta U, U --> e+ e-, analyzing the decay eta --> pi0 pi0 pi0 in a data sample of
Using $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $5.4,{rm fb}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of $13,{rm TeV}$, the $B^0to D^-D^+K^+pi^-$ decay is studied. A new excited $D_s^+$ meson is observe
The fraction of $Z+$jet events that contain a charm jet is measured for the first time in the forward region of proton-proton collisions. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb$^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy
