We report measurements of the temperature dependence of the radio-frequency magnetic penetration depth in Ba_0.68K_0.32Fe_2As_2 and Ba(Fe_0.93Co_0.07)_2As_2 single crystals in pulsed magnetic fields up to 60 T. From our data, we construct an H-T phase diagram for the inter-plane (H || c) and in-plane (H || ab) directions for both compounds. For both field orientations in Ba_0.68K_0.32Fe_2As_2, we find a concave curvature of the Hc2(T) lines with decreasing anisotropy and saturation towards lower temperature. Taking into account Pauli spin paramagnetism we can describe Hc2(T) and its anisotropy. In contrast, we find that Pauli paramagnetic pair breaking is not essential for Ba(Fe_0.93Co_0.07)_2As_2. For this electron-doped compound, the data support a Hc2(T) dependence that can be described by the Werthamer Helfand Hohenberg model for H || ab and a two-gap behavior for H || c.

The H-T phase diagrams of single crystalline electron-doped K0.83Fe1.83Se2 (KFS1), K0.8Fe2Se2 (KFS2) and hole-doped Eu0.5K0.5Fe2As2 (EKFA) have been deduced from tunnel diode oscillator-based contactless measurements in pulsed magnetic fields up to 5 7 T for the inter-plane (H//c) and in-plane (H//ab) directions. The temperature dependence of the upper critical magnetic field Hc2(T) relevant to EFKA is accounted for by the Pauli model including an anisotropic Pauli paramagnetic contribution (mu_BHp=114 T for H//ab and 86 T for H//c). This is also the case of KFS1 and KFS2 for H//ab whereas a significant upward curvature, accounted for by a two-gap model, is observed for H//c. Despite the presence of antiferromagnetic lattice order within the superconducting state of the studied compounds, no influence of magnetic ordering on the temperature dependence of Hc2(T) is observed.
Single crystals of Ba(Fe_(1-x)Mn_x)_2As_2, 0<x<0.148, have been grown and characterized by structural, magnetic, electrical transport and thermopower measurements. Although growths of single crystals of Ba(Fe_(1-x)Mn_x)_2As_2 for the full 0<=x<=1 ran ge were made, we find evidence for phase separation (associated with some form of immiscibility) starting for x>0.1-0.2. Our measurements show that whereas the structural/magnetic phase transition found in pure BaFe_2As_2 at 134 K is initially suppressed by Mn substitution, superconductivity is not observed at any substitution level. Although the effect of hydrostatic pressure up to 20 kbar in the parent BaFe_2As_2 compound is to suppress the structural/magnetic transition at the approximate rate of 0.9 K/kbar, the effects of pressure and Mn substitution in the x=0.102 compound are not cumulative. Phase diagrams of transition temperature versus substitution concentration, x, based on electrical transport, magnetization and thermopower measurements have been constructed and compared to those of the Ba(Fe_(1-x)TM_x)_2As_2 (TM=Co and Cr) series.
The dependence of the superconducting gaps in epitaxial Ba(Fe_{1-x}Co_{x})_2As_2 thin films on the nominal doping x (0.04 leq x leq 0.15) was studied by means of point-contact Andreev-reflection spectroscopy. The normalized conductance curves were we ll fitted by using the 2D Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk model with two nodeless, isotropic gaps -- although the possible presence of gap anisotropies cannot be completely excluded. The amplitudes of the two gaps Delta_{S} and Delta_{L} show similar monotonic trends as a function of the local critical temperature T_{c}^{A} (measured in the same point contacts) from 25 K down to 8 K. The dependence of the gaps on x is well correlated to the trend of the critical temperature, i.e. to the shape of the superconducting region in the phase diagram. When analyzed within a simple three-band Eliashberg model, this trend turns out to be compatible with a mechanism of superconducting coupling mediated by spin fluctuations, whose characteristic energy scales with T_{c} according to the empirical law Omega_{0}= 4.65*k_{B}*T_{c}, and with a total electron-boson coupling strength lambda_{tot}= 2.22 for x leq 0.10 (i.e. up to optimal doping) that slightly decreases to lambda_{tot}= 1.82 in the overdoped samples (x = 0.15).
The upper critical field $mu_0H_{c2}(T_c)$ of LiFeAs single crystals has been determined by measuring the electrical resistivity using the facilities of pulsed magnetic field at Los Alamos. We found that $mu_0H_{c2}(T_c)$ of LiFeAs shows a moderate a nisotropy among the layered iron-based superconductors; its anisotropic parameter $gamma$ monotonically decreases with decreasing temperature and approaches $gammasimeq 1.5$ as $Trightarrow 0$. The upper critical field reaches 15T ($Hparallel c$) and 24.2T ($Hparallel ab$) at $T=$1.4K, which value is much smaller than other iron-based high $T_c$ superconductors. The temperature dependence of $mu_0H_{c2}(T_c)$ can be described by the Werthamer-Helfand-Hohenberg (WHH) method, showing orbitally and (likely) spin-paramagnetically limited upper critical field for $Hparallel c$ and $Hparallel ab$, respectively.
We present a detailed study of the electrical transport properties of YBa2Cu3O7-{delta} thin film. The irreversibility fields ({mu}_0 H_irr), upper critical fields ({mu}_0 H_C2), penetration depths ({lambda}) and coherence lengths ({xi} ) of the YBa2 Cu3O7-{delta} materials are deduced from the resistivity curves. Itis observed that {mu}_0 H_irr, {mu}_0 H_C2 and {Delta}Tc of the film strongly depend on the direction and strength of the field. The coherence length {xi} (0) and penetration depth {lambda} (0) values at T = 0 K has been calculated from the irreversibility fields ({mu}_0 H_irr) and upper critical fields ({mu}_0 H_C2) respectively. Based on all the results, the change of the superconducting properties as a function of the magnetic field direction presents the anisotropy of the sample produced.
