We report the single crystal study of the bulk magnetization and neutron scattering measurements on a quantum S=1/2 spin ladders system IPA-Cu(Cl0.95Br0.05)3with quenched disorder. In zero field, the disordered spin liquid phase is preserved as in pure IPA-CuCl3. Due to the bond randomness, a different Bose glass phase was directly observed in Hc<H<H, which separates the spin liquid phase from the unconventional Bose-Einstein condensation phase. The observed finite value of boson compressibility dM/dH and lack of field-induced three-dimensional long range order are consistent with the theoretical prediction.
The suppression of magnetic order with pressure concomitant with the appearance of pressure- induced superconductivity was recently discovered in CrAs. Here we present a neutron diffraction study of the pressure evolution of the helimagnetic ground-s
The low-temperature states of bosonic fluids exhibit fundamental quantum effects at the macroscopic scale: the best-known examples are Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) and superfluidity, which have been tested experimentally in a variety of different
The magnetic structure of CsCo2Se2 was investigated using single-crystal neutron diffraction technique. An antiferromagnetic transition with the propagation vector (0,0,1) was observed at T_N = 78 K. The Co magnetic moment 0.772(6) {mu}_B at 10 K poi
Neutron diffraction measurements on a single crystal of CeGe1.76 reveal a complex series of magnetic transitions at low temperature. At T_N = 7 K, there is a transition from a paramagnetic state at higher temperature to an incommensurate magnetic str
Here we present neutron diffraction results on the mineral azurite. We have found that the crystal structure of azurite can be described in the space group $P2_1$ which is the next lower symmetric group of $P2_1/c$ as found in earlier work. This smal
