Electroproduction of light vector mesons is analyzed on the basis of handbag factorization. The required generalized parton distributions are constructed from the CTEQ6 parton distributions with the help of double distributions. The partonic subprocesses are calculated within the modified perturbative approach. The present work extends our previous analysis of the longitudinal cross section to the transverse one and other observables related to both the corresponding amplitudes. Our results are compared to recent experimental findings in detail.

It is reported on an analysis of electroproduction of light mesons at small Bjorken-x within the handbag approach. The partonic subprocesses, meson electroproduction off quarks or gluons, are calculated within the modified perturbative approach in wh ich quark transverse momenta are retained. The soft hadronic matrix elements, generalized parton distributions, are constructed by means of double distributions. The constraints from parton distributions and sum rules are taken into account. Various moments of these generalized parton distributions are compared to recent results from lattice gauge theories.
We present a nonperturbative QCD calculation of diffractive vector meson production in virtual photon nucleon scattering at high energy. We use the nonperturbative model of the stochastic QCD vacuum which yields linear confinement and makes specific predictions for the dependence of high-energy scattering cross sections on the hadron size. Using light cone wave functions of the photon and vector mesons, we calculate electroproduction cross sections for $rho$, $omega$, $phi$ and $J/psi$. We emphasize the behavior of specific observables such as the ratio of longitudinal to transverse production cross section and the t-dependence of the differential cross section.
We compute the exclusive electroproduction, $gamma^* p rightarrow V p$, of heavy quarkonia $V$ to NLO in the collinear factorisation scheme, which has been formally proven for this process. The inclusion of an off-shell virtuality $Q^2$ carried by th e photon extends the photoproduction phase space of the exclusive heavy quarkonia observable to electroproduction kinematics. This process is relevant for diffractive scattering at HERA and the upcoming EIC, as well as at the proposed LHeC and FCC.
One of the more promising observables to probe the high energy regime of the QCD dynamics in the future Electron-Ion Colliders (EIC) is the exclusive vector meson production cross section in coherent and incoherent interactions. Such processes measur e the average spatial distribution of gluons in the target as well the fluctuations and correlations in the gluon density. In this paper we present a comprehensive analysis of the energy, photon virtuality, atomic number and momentum transfer dependencies of the coherent and incoherent cross sections considering two different models for the nuclear profile function. In particular, we present the predictions of the hot-spot model, which assumes the presence of subnucleonic degrees of freedom and an energy-dependent profile. Our results indicate that the analysis of the ratio between the incoherent and coherent cross sections and the momentum transfer distributions in the future EIC can be useful to constrain the description of the hadronic structure at high energies.
