In this article we build a Quillen model category structure on the category of sequentially complete l.m.c.-C*-algebras such that the corresponding homotopy classes of maps Ho(A,B) for separable C*-algebras A and B coincide with the Kasparov groups KK(A,B). This answers an open question posed by Mark Hovey about the possibility of describing KK-theory for C*-algebras using the language of Quillen model categories.

We construct a model of differential K-theory, using the geometrically defined Chern forms, whose cocycles are certain equivalence classes of maps into the Grassmannians and unitary groups. In particular, we produce the circle-integration maps for th ese models using classical homotopy-theoretic constructions, by incorporating certain differential forms which reconcile the incompatibility between these even and odd Chern forms. By the uniqueness theorem of Bunke and Schick, this model agrees with the spectrum-based models in the literature whose abstract Chern cocycles are compatible with the delooping maps on the nose.
In this paper, we study weakly unital dg categories as they were defined by Kontsevich and Soibelman [KS, Sect.4]. We construct a cofibrantly generated Quillen model structure on the category $mathrm{Cat}_{mathrm{dgwu}}(Bbbk)$ of small weakly unital dg categories over a field $Bbbk$. Our model structure can be thought of as an extension of the model structure on the category $mathrm{Cat}_{mathrm{dg}}(Bbbk)$ of (strictly unital) small dg categories over $Bbbk$, due to Tabuada [Tab]. More precisely, we show that the imbedding of $mathrm{Cat}_{mathrm{dg}}(Bbbk)$ to $mathrm{Cat}_{mathrm{dgwu}}(Bbbk)$ is a right adjoint of a Quillen pair of functors. We prove that this Quillen pair is, in turn, a Quillen equivalence. In course of the proof, we study a non-symmetric dg operad $mathcal{O}$, governing the weakly unital dg categories, which is encoded in the Kontsevich-Soibelman definition. We prove that this dg operad is quasi-isomorphic to the operad $mathrm{Assoc}_+$ of unital associative algebras.

We strengthen some results in etale (and real etale) motivic stable homotopy theory, by eliminating finiteness hypotheses, additional localizations and/or extending to spectra from HZ-modules.

We investigate a notion of $times$-homotopy of graph maps that is based on the internal hom associated to the categorical product in the category of graphs. It is shown that graph $times$-homotopy is characterized by the topological properties of the $Hom$ complex, a functorial way to assign a poset (and hence topological space) to a pair of graphs; $Hom$ complexes were introduced by Lov{a}sz and further studied by Babson and Kozlov to give topological bounds on chromatic number. Along the way, we also establish some structural properties of $Hom$ complexes involving products and exponentials of graphs, as well as a symmetry result which can be used to reprove a theorem of Kozlov involving foldings of graphs. Graph $times$-homotopy naturally leads to a notion of homotopy equivalence which we show has several equivalent characterizations. We apply the notions of $times$-homotopy equivalence to the class of dismantlable graphs to get a list of conditions that again characterize these. We end with a discussion of graph homotopies arising from other internal homs, including the construction of `$A$-theory associated to the cartesian product in the category of reflexive graphs.

We show that the Waldhausen trace map $mathrm{Tr}_X colon A(X) to QX_+$, which defines a natural splitting map from the algebraic $K$-theory of spaces to stable homotopy, is natural up to emph{weak} homotopy with respect to transfer maps in algebraic $K$-theory and Becker-Gottlieb transfer maps respectively.
