We construct a new, two-parametric family of integrable models and reveal their underlying duality symmetry. A modular subgroup of this duality is shown to connect non-interacting modes of different systems. We apply the new solution and duality to a Richardson-Gaudin model and generate a novel integrable system termed the $s$-$d$ wave Richardson-Gaudin-Kitaev interacting chain, interpolating $s$- and $d$- wave superconductivity. The phase diagram of this model has a topological phase transition that can be connected to the duality, where the occupancy of the non-interacting mode serves as a topological order parameter.

Mappings between models may be obtained by unitary transformations with preservation of the spectra but in general a change in the states. Non- canonical transformations in general also change the statistics of the operators involved. In these cases one may expect a change of topological properties as a consequence of the mapping. Here we consider some dualities resulting from mappings, by systematically using a Majorana fermion representation of spin and fermionic problems. We focus on the change of topological invariants that results from unitary transformations taking as examples the mapping between a spin system and a topological superconductor, and between different fermionic systems.
We consider the repulsive Hubbard model in one dimension and show the different mechanisms present in the charge and spin separation phenomena for an electron, at half filling and bellow half filling. We also comment recent experimental results.
Motivated by field-theoretic predictions we investigate the stable excitations that exist in two characteristic gapped phases of a spin-1 model with Ising-like and single-ion anisotropies. The sine-Gordon theory indicates a region close to the phase boundary where a stable breather exists besides the stable particles, that form the Haldane triplet at the Heisenberg isotropic point. The numerical data, obtained by means of the Density Matrix Renormalization Group, confirm this picture in the so-called large-D phase for which we give also a quantitative analysis of the bound states using standard perturbation theory. However, the situation turns out to be considerably more intricate in the Haldane phase where, to the best of our data, we do not observe stable breathers contrarily to what could be expected from the sine-Gordon model, but rather only the three modes predicted by a novel anisotropic extension of the Non-Linear Sigma Model studied here by means of a saddle-point approximation.
Many-body systems with multiple emergent time scales arise in various contexts, including classical critical systems, correlated quantum materials, and ultra-cold atoms. We investigate such non-trivial quantum dynamics in a new setting: a spin-1 bilinear-biquadratic chain. It has a solvable entangled groundstate, but a gapless excitation spectrum that is poorly understood. By using large-scale DMRG simulations, we find that the lowest excitations have a dynamical exponent $z$ that varies from 2 to 3.2 as we vary a coupling in the Hamiltonian. We find an additional gapless mode with a continuously varying exponent $2leq z <2.7$, which establishes the presence of multiple dynamics. In order to explain these striking properties, we construct a continuum wavefunction for the groundstate, which correctly describes the correlations and entanglement properties. We also give a continuum parent Hamiltonian, but show that additional ingredients are needed to capture the excitations of the chain. By using an exact mapping to the non-equilibrium dynamics of a classical spin chain, we find that the large dynamical exponent is due to subdiffusive spin motion. Finally, we discuss the connections to other spin chains and to a family of quantum critical models in 2d.
We study a spin-1/2 Kondo impurity coupled to an unconventional host in which the density of band states vanishes either precisely at (``gapless systems) or on some interval around the Fermi level (``gappedsystems). Despite an essentially nonlinear band dispersion, the system is proven to exhibit hidden integrability and is diagonalized exactly by the Bethe ansatz.
