We establish partial semigroup property of Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional differential operators. Using this result we prove theorems on reduction of multi-term fractional differential systems to single-term and multi-order systems, and prove existence and uniqueness of solution to multi-term Caputo fractional differential systems

An important class of fractional differential and integral operators is given by the theory of fractional calculus with respect to functions, sometimes called $Psi$-fractional calculus. The operational calculus approach has proved useful for understanding and extending this topic of study. Motivated by fractional differential equations, we present an operational calculus approach for Laplace transforms with respect to functions and their relationship with fractional operators with respect to functions. This approach makes the generalised Laplace transforms much easier to analyse and to apply in practice. We prove several important properties of these generalised Laplace transforms, including an inversion formula, and apply it to solve some fractional differential equations, using the operational calculus approach for efficient solving.
In this paper, we provide the spectral decomposition in Hilbert space of the $mathcal{C}_0$-semigroup $P$ and its adjoint $hatP$ having as generator, respectively, the Caputo and the right-sided Riemann-Liouville fractional derivatives of index $1<alpha<2$. These linear operators, which are non-local and non-self-adjoint, appear in many recent studies in applied mathematics and also arise as the infinitesimal generators of some substantial processes such as the reflected spectrally negative $alpha$-stable process. Our approach relies on intertwining relations that we establish between these semigroups and the semigroup of a Bessel type process whose generator is a self-adjoint second order differential operator. In particular, from this commutation relation, we characterize the positive real axis as the continuous point spectrum of $P$ and provide a power series representation of the corresponding eigenfunctions. We also identify the positive real axis as the residual spectrum of the adjoint operator $hatP$ and elucidates its role in the spectral decomposition of these operators. By resorting to the concept of continuous frames, we proceed by investigating the domain of the spectral operators and derive two representations for the heat kernels of these semigroups. As a by-product, we also obtain regularity properties for these latter and also for the solution of the associated Cauchy problem.
In this work we focus on substantial fractional integral and differential operators which play an important role in modeling anomalous diffusion. We introduce a new generalized substantial fractional integral. Generalizations of fractional substantial derivatives are also introduced both in Riemann-Liouville and Caputo sense. Furthermore, we analyze fundamental properties of these operators. Finally, we consider a class of generalized substantial fractional differential equations and discuss the existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence of solutions on initial data.
By applying the MC algorithm and the Bauer-Muir transformation for continued fractions, in this paper we shall give six examples to show how to establish an infinite set of continued fraction formulas for certain Ramanujan-type series, such as Catalans constant, the exponential function, etc.
The relationship between the operator norms of fractional integral operators acting on weighted Lebesgue spaces and the constant of the weights is investigated. Sharp boundsare obtained for both the fractional integral operators and the associated fractional maximal functions. As an application improved Sobolev inequalities are obtained. Some of the techniques used include a sharp off-diagonal version of the extrapolation theorem of Rubio de Francia and characterizations of two-weight norm inequalities.
