The aim of this study was to compare fiber reinforced composite with wired retainers in terms of assessing the rate bond failure and plaque accumalation . The clinical study was conducted on 20 patients have completed their orthodontic treatment ,the patients have been devided into two groups , each group of 10 samples. The first group of patients had quartz fiber-reinforced composite retainers and the second group had traditional retainers. Then we monitored patients every two months for a year. In each review we were assessing if a retainer in its place or not, and we used disks to assess the amount of plaque accumalation. Wilcoxon test has been used to study the statistical significance differences in bond failure rate and plaque accumalation.

The effectiveness of the bacterial plaque adjacent orthodontic brackets which bonded with fluoride releasing resin-based composite was studied to evaluate the ability of this bonding material in the control of caries process. 128 orthodontic brac kets were bonded on 128 second premolars in 32 patients by using conventional composite in one group and fluoride releasing resin-based composite in other group using the split-mouth technique.
Esthetic orthodontic archwires (fiber reinforced composite archwires) are considered as the latest addition to orthodontic's world, and the load deflection rate is thought to be the most important mechanical property of archwires which has strong e ffect clinically, and this property is affected by the cross section diameter and the material's type, for these reasons this study aims to investigate the effect of the material's type and the cross section diameter of orthodontic archwires on the load deflection rate of fiber reinforced composite(FRC) archwires with a diameter of 0.014 inch and 0.016 inch which are suitable for the leveling and alignment stage, and to compare these new materials with Nickel titanium(NiTi) archwires .
Dental caries is an infectious bacterial disease that results in localized dissolution and destruction of thecalcified tissues of the teeth. There are many dental materials which have antibacterial effects. The aim of this study is to evaluate th e antibacterial effects of the commercial types of Glass Ionomers Cement (GIC)Kaviton® CEM and Composite Prime Dental® using at the Faculty of Dentistry in Al- Hawash Private University (HPU), and to make comparsion between these.
This research includes an experimental study for the manufacture of a composite material based on polymer (unsaturated polyester), reinforced with random fiberglass at different weight fractions. By suite, it has been studied some mechanical prope rties of the models manufactured, to determine the effect of glass fiber content on the tensile strength, hardness and impact resistance. This study has shown that the best results were for samples reinforced by 40% fiberglass, where the tensile strength increased about 70%, hardness up to 30%, and impact resistance about 43%. It will be observed that the mechanical properties decrease clearly at 60% of weight fraction of fiberglass. This fact can be related to the quantity of unsaturated polyester become inadequate for recharge of the fibers, which leads to weakness in the forces bonding in composite materials.
