Pushover method or method of nonlinear static analysis is considered the latest and best way to study and evaluate the buildings under effect of seismic load. The method is based on the study of deformation occurring in the building, formation of plastic hinge in elements, in addition to the redistribution of internal forces in building elements under the effect of earthquake loads. Pushover method was applied to evaluate the Model of residential buildings in Latakia suburb Tabiyat, who has designed and implemented before the issuance of the code which earthquake load considered. First, the dynamic characteristics of the building (Period, and Mode shape) were identified in the cases of modeling 2D (plane) and 3D (spatial). Second, an analysis of the building under earthquake load by Pushover method depending on ETABS Program was conducted. We have got seven side cases push of the building, and have identified the location of plastic hinge in the building elements, and draw a curved capacity for the building, which represents the relationship between base shear force and lateral deflection at the top of the building. It was concluded that the building is a good resistance to the effect of earthquake. It was concluded with backing the adoption of Pushover method to evaluate existing buildings, and study the dynamic behavior, and the extent of resistance to the effect of earthquake.

This research studies the behavior of the soft story in RC structures using static analysis and dynamic analysis, where studying models of RC structures containing soft story where this story results from increased hieght of story than the rest st orys, was conducted static analysis using Nonliner pushover analysis and dynamic analysis using Nonliner time history analysis
The aim of this work is to demonstrate the role that slabs plays in RC high-rise buildings. This study shows the mistakes may be done by modeling slabs as rigid diaphragms. Then after, the rehabilitation ability of these systems can be more accurate.
Frame structures contribute to resist the seismic loads. On the other hand, frames work efficiently to increase the ductility of buildings. Therefore, many techniques were used to improve the resistance against lateral loads where steel shear walls are considered to be one of these ways. This research aims to study the effect of inserting steel shear wall on the resistance of the reinforced concrete frame against earthquake loads. In this study, Finite Element Method (FEM) using Geometrically and Materially Non-Linear Analysis (GMNLA) was performed. Pushover analysis is used to explore the behavior of the steel plate in-filled reinforced concrete frame against lateral loads. Moreover, the effect of plate thickness was undertaken. On the other hand, an opening is made in this plate. Then, the influence of the position and dimension of this opening on the resistance was observed. This study shows that using a steel plate shear wall with or without opening can enhance the resistance to seismic loads significantly together with the deflection decrease.
This study has provided an accurate description of the traditional nonlinear static analysis and modal pushover analysis and then these two analyzes applied for a set of concrete buildings.
This research includes the procedures of applying the nonlinear static analysis (pushover analysis) on seismic resistance concrete frame systems by modeling the foundation system (soil + footing) down the structure as an elastic springs and rocking stiffness and comparing them with premise of fixed support in terms of the deformation and displacement, load and stress distribution in frame elements and accordingly clarifying the effect of improving soil on foundation system stiffness and on the responding of frame to lateral loads which helps in moving the structure performance from low level to a higher level that we need from structure to reach following the design strategy that we choose for the structure.
