In this research the effects of various parameters on flux and fouling in
Dead -End Flat Sheet Ultrafiltration (DEFS) were studied using saline
solutions contaminated by humic acid as fouling material.
Pretreatment is one of the most important stage in olive mill
wastewater (OMWW) plants. Statistically, the cost of chemicals in
pretreatment will be not more than 0.02 €/m³OMWW for some kind of
chemical coagulants such as CaO.
Poultry litter is an organic waste in Syria which can be a source of clean
energy if treated anaerobically. This research aimed to investigate the effect of
mechanical pretreatment of poultry litter in producing biogas and methane.
Experiments wer
e performed in units of fermentation laboratory on samples
ground spread over parts diameters 1 mm, 3 mm, and 10 mm at at 37°C
temperature, for a period of 42 days and compared with untreated samples
mechanically.
