This study has been conducted to show the influence of some factors to the rooting of semi-wooden cuttings of boxwood Boxus suffruticosa L. in order to know the best concentration of indol biotryc acid (IBA) and the best rooting media for the root ing of boxwood cuttings . The experiment was designed in the sub-plots method and semi-wooden Boxwood cuttings were used. The cuttings were treated with three concentrations of IBA: 3000, 5000, 10000 p.p.m. using fast dipping. Then the cuttings were planted (distributed) in five rooting media, namely: sand, peatmoss, khaffan, (sand+peat-moss) in the rate of (1:1), (khaffan+ perlite) in the rate of 1:5 respectively. under protected conditions. The experiment has continued for 8 weeks.
Gardenia jasminoides is considered as a plant of tropical and suptrofical regions. This plant has a great importance in Germany and Syria. Despite that this research has been done in Germany, it is possible to generalize it for Syria as it was cond ucted in stable laboratory conditions. The experiment was conducted in the environment of greenhouse no. 5 at the Higher Gardening Institute- Branch of Ornamental plants in Berlin. Cuttings imported from Denmark were used after being stored in an atmosphere of high relative humidity reaching 95-100%.
