Setting in Sahar Khalife's Novels

The setting in novels has captured the novelists' attention in the contemporary literary world. It was considered the link between elements of the novel. It is، after all، the setting of the events، the substantial scope in which characters move and where all conflicts take place. Thus، the setting، with its different types، has preoccupied modern studies which examined the relation between the setting and the narrative elements، especially the character. Studies have preserved to reflect the relation between setting and character and the effect this relation has on forming the setting and giving it specific characteristics depending upon the case and the reality of the Palestinian movement. This relation between setting and character has acquired much importance due to the mutual relation between the two، to the extent that setting، in some novels، has become a basis for the events، a purpose for forming characters، and a conformation for their identity and existence. This research sheds light on setting in SaharKhalife's novels، its role in personifying the Palestinian reality، and studying its importance in the life of the Palestinian character، in addition to showing the role of description in projecting its indicative features and dimensions.

Friendship is not a positive social relationship full of moral values .Rather ,it is an essential existential component that has to do with the human soul on all levels starting from the significance of a friend in understanding the other, who represents the major characters in the handled novels of research .The research aims at representing a socialphilosophical compromise of friendship from a comparative perspective dealing with three novels different in time and theme to get the relation which exceeds being an embodiment with which the friend lives with his friend to the self and the other in the major characters which its special world shaped by blending the life experience with the reality portrayed shaped by this relation.In conclusion ,it aims that friendship is a vital active discourse .The most rational part derivate the self of the social weak part , to show his opinion toward self and world.

The Characters in the Arab satellite Channels for Children ) AnAnalysis Study of the Characters appearing in the Children's Programs on CN channel)

The research aims at determine the gender and the features of the characters in children’s programs on CN. We chose an analytical descriptive approach that relies on content analysis as a research tool.To achieve that a content analysis form was applied on a sample of (295) programs. Results were as following: 1- The most common subjects in CN programs were the social subjects, and the fiction subjects. 2- The most common language was the classical Arabic. 3- Most programs on CN were foreign. 4- The most common gender was the male relatively (%53.81). 5- the most common features of male characters were: the fashionable look, happy and joy, strong and supernatural power. 6 - The most common features of female characterswere: the fashionable look, happy and joy, the self-confidence.
