The aim of the research was to determine the Demand Functions of retailers
on rice in Damascus and Countryside governorates, by using random cluster
sample with 622 observations. Results showed that the brand played a major
role of the retailers d
emand on packaged rice, which led to a rise in price affect
of retailers demand on packaged rice according to the variety and the brand
compared with its impact according to variety only, while the rice variety
played a role in increasing retailers demand on dogma rice regardless of the
brand. High quality of some varieties and brands of rice led to increase its sold
rates, Egyptian, American and Australian rice achieved higher rates of sold
among short rice varieties. Indian rice achieved high sold rates among tall rice
varieties.
