The main objective of this study was to determine factors affecting the
farmers decision to use the chemical fertilizer in Al-Hassa area of Saudi
Arabia. For this purpose, a questionnaire form was developed and distributed
among ٩٠ randomly select
ed farmers operating in the study area. Interviews
conducted to collect the needed data, means and standard error, percentage,
frequency, and simple correlation as well as multiple regressions were used to
analyze the data.
The Al-Hassa oasis at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an agricultural area
depends on irrigation associated with a drainage network with three main
drainage canals. Two of them, the D١ and the D٢, cover most of the oasis total
area (٢٠،٠٠٠ ha) whil
e the third one (the D٣) covers a limited area. This study
aimed to examine the spatial variability in the concentrations of NO٣
- and PO٤٣- in the drainage water of the D١ and the D٢ canals.
