Recent works have revealed that the recipe for field-antifield quantization of Lagrangian gauge theories can be considerably relaxed when it comes to choosing a path integral measure rho if a zero-order term u_{rho} is added to the Delta operator. The effects of this odd scalar term u_{rho} become relevant at two-loop order. We prove that u_{rho} is essentially the odd scalar curvature of an arbitrary torsion-free connection that is compatible with both the anti-Poisson structure E and the density rho. This extends a previous result for non-degenerate antisymplectic manifolds to degenerate anti-Poisson manifolds that admit a compatible two-form.

We consider Khudaverdians geometric version of a Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) operator Delta_E in the case of a degenerate anti-Poisson manifold. The characteristic feature of such an operator (aside from being a Grassmann-odd, nilpotent, second-order dif ferential operator) is that it sends semidensities to semidensities. We find a local formula for the Delta_E operator in arbitrary coordinates. As an important application of this setup, we consider the Dirac antibracket on an antisymplectic manifold with antisymplectic second-class constraints. We show that the entire Dirac construction, including the corresponding Dirac BV operator Delta_{E_D}, exactly follows from conversion of the antisymplectic second-class constraints into first-class constraints on an extended manifold.

The section condition of Double Field Theory has been argued to mean that doubled coordinates are gauged: a gauge orbit represents a single physical point. In this note, we consider a doubled and at the same time gauged particle action, and show that its BRST formulation including Faddeev--Popov ghosts matches with the graded Poisson geometry that has been recently used to describe the symmetries of Double Field Theory. Besides, by requiring target spacetime diffeomorphisms at the quantum level, we derive quantum corrections to the classical action involving dilaton, which might be comparable with the Fradkin--Tseytlin term on string worldsheet.
Using methods of formal geometry, the Poisson sigma model on a closed surface is studied in perturbation theory. The effective action, as a function on vacua, is shown to have no quantum corrections if the surface is a torus or if the Poisson structu re is regular and unimodular (e.g., symplectic). In the case of a Kahler structure or of a trivial Poisson structure, the partition function on the torus is shown to be the Euler characteristic of the target; some evidence is given for this to happen more generally. The methods of formal geometry introduced in this paper might be applicable to other sigma models, at least of the AKSZ type.
We discuss the A-model as a gauge fixing of the Poisson Sigma Model with target a symplectic structure. We complete the discussion in [arXiv:0706.3164], where a gauge fixing defined by a compatible complex structure was introduced, by showing how to recover the A-model hierarchy of observables in terms of the AKSZ observables. Moreover, we discuss the off-shell supersymmetry of the A-model as a residual BV symmetry of the gauge-fixed PSM action.
We derive a Hamiltonian structure for the $N$-particle hyperbolic spin Ruijsenaars-Schneider model by means of Poisson reduction of a suitable initial phase space. This phase space is realised as the direct product of the Heisenberg double of a facto risable Lie group with another symplectic manifold that is a certain deformation of the standard canonical relations for $Nell$ conjugate pairs of dynamical variables. We show that the model enjoys the Poisson-Lie symmetry of the spin group ${rm GL}_{ell}({mathbb C})$ which explains its superintegrability. Our results are obtained in the formalism of the classical $r$-matrix and they are compatible with the recent findings on the different Hamiltonian structure of the model established in the framework of the quasi-Hamiltonian reduction applied to a quasi-Poisson manifold.
