The ground-state ordering and dynamics of the two-dimensional (2D) S=1/2 frustrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet Cs_2CuCl_4 is explored using neutron scattering in high magnetic fields. We find that the dynamic correlations show a highly dispersive continuum of excited states, characteristic of the RVB state, arising from pairs of S=1/2 spinons. Quantum renormalization factors for the excitation energies (1.65) and incommensuration (0.56) are large.
In this letter, we report on the single crystal growth and physical characterization of the distorted kagom{e} system Pr$_3$Ga$_5$SiO$_{14}$. It is found that at zero magnetic field the system shows no magnetic order down to 0.035 K and exhibits a $T
We present a mixed spin-(1/2, 5/2) chain composed of a charge-transfer salt (4-Br-$o$-MePy-V)FeCl$_4$. We observe the entire magnetization curve up to saturation, which exhibits a clear Lieb-Mattis magnetization plateau and subsequent quantum phase t
We present a study of a simple model antiferromagnet consisting of a sum of nearest neighbor SO($N$) singlet projectors on the Kagome lattice. Our model shares some features with the popular $S=1/2$ Kagome antiferromagnet but is specifically designed
In the Kitaev honeycomb model, the quantum spin fractionalizes into itinerant Majorana and gauge flux spontaneously upon cooling, leading to rich experimental ramifications at finite temperature and an upsurge of research interest. In this work, we e
We report macroscopic magnetic measurements carried out in order to detect and characterize field-induced quantum entanglement in low dimensional spin systems. We analyze the pyroborate MgMnB_2O_5 and the and the warwickite MgTiOBO_3, systems with sp
