A static and circularly symmetric lens characterized by mass and scalar charge parameters is constructed. For the small values of the scalar charge to the mass ratio, the gravitational lensing is qualitatively similar to the case of the Schwarzschild lens; however, for large values of this ratio the lensing characteristics are significantly different. The main features are the existence of two or nil Einstein ring(s) and a radial critical curve, formation of two or four images and possibility of detecting three images near the lens for sources located at relatively large angular positions. Such a novel lens may also be treated as a naked singularity lens.
It has been suggested that the acceleration of the Universe may be due to the backreaction of perturbations to the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker background. For a Universe dominated by cold dark matter, it is known that the backreaction of superhorizon
In view of the recent polarization measurements in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions, we discuss the possibility of a physical meaning of the spin angular momentum in quantum field theory and relativistic hydrodynamics.
We study the evolution of non-Gaussianity in multiple-field inflationary models, focusing on three fundamental questions: (a) How is the sign and peak magnitude of the non-linearity parameter fNL related to generic features in the inflationary potent
Cosmological constraints on the scalar-tensor theory of gravity by analyzing the angular power spectrum data of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) obtained from the Planck 2015 results are presented. We consider the harmonic attractor model, in wh
We present cosmological constraints on the scalar-tensor theory of gravity by analyzing the angular power spectrum data of the cosmic microwave background obtained from the Planck 2015 results together with the baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) data
