The combination of the traditional convolutional network (i.e., an auto-encoder) and the graph convolutional network has attracted much attention in clustering, in which the auto-encoder extracts the node attribute feature and the graph convolutional network captures the topological graph feature. However, the existing works (i) lack a flexible combination mechanism to adaptively fuse those two kinds of features for learning the discriminative representation and (ii) overlook the multi-scale information embedded at different layers for subsequent cluster assignment, leading to inferior clustering results. To this end, we propose a novel deep clustering method named Attention-driven Graph Clustering Network (AGCN). Specifically, AGCN exploits a heterogeneity-wise fusion module to dynamically fuse the node attribute feature and the topological graph feature. Moreover, AGCN develops a scale-wise fusion module to adaptively aggregate the multi-scale features embedded at different layers. Based on a unified optimization framework, AGCN can jointly perform feature learning and cluster assignment in an unsupervised fashion. Compared with the existing deep clustering methods, our method is more flexible and effective since it comprehensively considers the numerous and discriminative information embedded in the network and directly produces the clustering results. Extensive quantitative and qualitative results on commonly used benchmark datasets validate that our AGCN consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Recent studies often exploit Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to model label dependencies to improve recognition accuracy for multi-label image recognition. However, constructing a graph by counting the label co-occurrence possibilities of the train ing data may degrade model generalizability, especially when there exist occasional co-occurrence objects in test images. Our goal is to eliminate such bias and enhance the robustness of the learnt features. To this end, we propose an Attention-Driven Dynamic Graph Convolutional Network (ADD-GCN) to dynamically generate a specific graph for each image. ADD-GCN adopts a Dynamic Graph Convolutional Network (D-GCN) to model the relation of content-aware category representations that are generated by a Semantic Attention Module (SAM). Extensive experiments on public multi-label benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our method, which achieves mAPs of 85.2%, 96.0%, and 95.5% on MS-COCO, VOC2007, and VOC2012, respectively, and outperforms current state-of-the-art methods with a clear margin. Self-attention mechanism recently achieves impressive advancement in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Image Processing domains. And its permutation invariance property makes it ideally suitable for point cloud processing. Inspired by this remark able success, we propose an end-to-end architecture, dubbed Cross-Level Cross-Scale Cross-Attention Network (CLCSCANet), for point cloud representation learning. First, a point-wise feature pyramid module is introduced to hierarchically extract features from different scales or resolutions. Then a cross-level cross-attention is designed to model long-range inter-level and intra-level dependencies. Finally, we develop a cross-scale cross-attention module to capture interactions between-and-within scales for representation enhancement. Compared with state-of-the-art approaches, our network can obtain competitive performance on challenging 3D object classification, point cloud segmentation tasks via comprehensive experimental evaluation.
In this paper, we present an accurate and scalable approach to the face clustering task. We aim at grouping a set of faces by their potential identities. We formulate this task as a link prediction problem: a link exists between two faces if they are of the same identity. The key idea is that we find the local context in the feature space around an instance (face) contains rich information about the linkage relationship between this instance and its neighbors. By constructing sub-graphs around each instance as input data, which depict the local context, we utilize the graph convolution network (GCN) to perform reasoning and infer the likelihood of linkage between pairs in the sub-graphs. Experiments show that our method is more robust to the complex distribution of faces than conventional methods, yielding favorably comparable results to state-of-the-art methods on standard face clustering benchmarks, and is scalable to large datasets. Furthermore, we show that the proposed method does not need the number of clusters as prior, is aware of noises and outliers, and can be extended to a multi-view version for more accurate clustering accuracy.
Food recognition has received more and more attention in the multimedia community for its various real-world applications, such as diet management and self-service restaurants. A large-scale ontology of food images is urgently needed for developing a dvanced large-scale food recognition algorithms, as well as for providing the benchmark dataset for such algorithms. To encourage further progress in food recognition, we introduce the dataset ISIA Food- 500 with 500 categories from the list in the Wikipedia and 399,726 images, a more comprehensive food dataset that surpasses existing popular benchmark datasets by category coverage and data volume. Furthermore, we propose a stacked global-local attention network, which consists of two sub-networks for food recognition. One subnetwork first utilizes hybrid spatial-channel attention to extract more discriminative features, and then aggregates these multi-scale discriminative features from multiple layers into global-level representation (e.g., texture and shape information about food). The other one generates attentional regions (e.g., ingredient relevant regions) from different regions via cascaded spatial transformers, and further aggregates these multi-scale regional features from different layers into local-level representation. These two types of features are finally fused as comprehensive representation for food recognition. Extensive experiments on ISIA Food-500 and other two popular benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, and thus can be considered as one strong baseline. Graph neural network (GNN) has shown superior performance in dealing with graphs, which has attracted considerable research attention recently. However, most of the existing GNN models are primarily designed for graphs in Euclidean spaces. Recent res earch has proven that the graph data exhibits non-Euclidean latent anatomy. Unfortunately, there was rarely study of GNN in non-Euclidean settings so far. To bridge this gap, in this paper, we study the GNN with attention mechanism in hyperbolic spaces at the first attempt. The research of hyperbolic GNN has some unique challenges: since the hyperbolic spaces are not vector spaces, the vector operations (e.g., vector addition, subtraction, and scalar multiplication) cannot be carried. To tackle this problem, we employ the gyrovector spaces, which provide an elegant algebraic formalism for hyperbolic geometry, to transform the features in a graph; and then we propose the hyperbolic proximity based attention mechanism to aggregate the features. Moreover, as mathematical operations in hyperbolic spaces could be more complicated than those in Euclidean spaces, we further devise a novel acceleration strategy using logarithmic and exponential mappings to improve the efficiency of our proposed model. The comprehensive experimental results on four real-world datasets demonstrate the performance of our proposed hyperbolic graph attention network model, by comparisons with other state-of-the-art baseline methods.
