A theorem is proved which determines the first integrals of the form $I=K_{ab}(t,q)dot{q}^{a}dot{q}^{b}+K_{a}(t,q)dot{q}^{a}+K(t,q)$ of autonomous holonomic systems using only the collineations of the kinetic metric which is defined by the kinetic energy or the Lagrangian of the system. It is shown how these first integrals can be associated via the inverse Noether theorem to a gauged weak Noether symmetry which admits the given first integral as a Noether integral. It is shown also that the associated Noether symmetry is possible to satisfy the conditions for a Hojman or a form-invariance symmetry therefore the so-called non-Noetherian first integrals are gauged weak Noether integrals. The application of the theorem requires a certain algorithm due to the complexity of the special conditions involved. We demonstrate this algorithm by a number of solved examples. We choose examples from published works in order to show that our approach produces new first integrals not found before with the standard methods.

The classical quantization of a Lienard-type nonlinear oscillator is achieved by a quantization scheme (M.C. Nucci. Theor. Math. Phys., 168:997--1004, 2011) that preserves the Noether point symmetries of the underlying Lagrangian in order to construc t the Schrodinger equation. This method straightforwardly yields the correct Schrodinger equation in the momentum space (V. Chithiika Ruby, M. Senthilvelan, and M. Lakshmanan. J. Phys. A: Math. Gen., 45:382002, 2012), and sheds light into the apparently remarkable connection with the linear harmonic oscillator.

The classical quantization of the motion of a free particle and that of an harmonic oscillator on a double cone are achieved by a quantization scheme [M.C. Nucci, Theor. Math. Phys. 168 (2011) 994], that preserves the Noether point symmetries of the underlying Lagrangian in order to construct the Schroedinger equation. The result is different from that given in [K. Kowalski, J.Rembielnski, Ann. Phys. 329 (2013) 146]. A comparison of the different outcomes is provided.
We analyze the relation of the notion of a pluri-Lagrangian system, which recently emerged in the theory of integrable systems, to the classical notion of variational symmetry, due to E. Noether. We treat classical mechanical systems and show that, f or any Lagrangian system with $m$ commuting variational symmetries, one can construct a pluri-Lagrangian 1-form in the $(m+1)$-dimensional time, whose multi-time Euler-Lagrange equations coincide with the original system supplied with $m$ commuting evolutionary flows corresponding to the variational symmetries. We also give a Hamiltonian counterpart of this construction, leading, for any system of commuting Hamiltonian flows, to a pluri-Lagrangian 1-form with coefficients depending on functions in the phase space.
We consider families of multiple and simple integrals of the ``Ising class and the linear ordinary differential equations with polynomial coefficients they are solutions of. We compare the full set of singularities given by the roots of the head poly nomial of these linear ODEs and the subset of singularities occurring in the integrals, with the singularities obtained from the Landau conditions. For these Ising class integrals, we show that the Landau conditions can be worked out, either to give the singularities of the corresponding linear differential equation or the singularities occurring in the integral. The singular behavior of these integrals is obtained in the self-dual variable $w= s/2/(1+s^2)$, with $s= sinh(2K)$, where $K=J/kT$ is the usual Ising model coupling constant. Switching to the variable $s$, we show that the singularities of the analytic continuation of series expansions of these integrals actually break the Kramers-Wannier duality. We revisit the singular behavior (J. Phys. A {bf 38} (2005) 9439-9474) of the third contribution to the magnetic susceptibility of Ising model $chi^{(3)}$ at the points $1+3w+4w^2= 0$ and show that $chi^{(3)}(s)$ is not singular at the corresponding points inside the unit circle $| s |=1$, while its analytical continuation in the variable $s$ is actually singular at the corresponding points $ 2+s+s^2=0$ oustside the unit circle ($| s | > 1$).
