We present the first report on a large low-temperature magnetoresistance (MR) of more than 1600% in a SrFe2As2 single crystal and 1300% in a low-energy Ca ion-implanted SrFe2As2 single crystal that occurs before the emergence of crystallographic strain-induced bulk superconductivity arising from a sample aging effect. In accordance to band structure calculations from literature, which consitently show more than 2 bands are involved in the transport, we have modeled this large MR at high fields using a 3-carrier scenario rather than solely on quantum linear MR model generally used to explain the MR in iron-pnictides. At and below 20 K the large MR may be due to 3-carrier transport in an inhomogeneous state where there are superconducting and metallic regions.

Single crystals of SrFe2-xPtxAs2 (0 < x < 0.36) were grown using the self flux solution method and characterized using x-ray crystallography, electrical transport, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat measurements. The magnetic/structural trans ition is suppressed with increasing Pt concentration, with superconductivity seen over the range 0.08 < x < 0.36 with a maximum transition temperature Tc of 16 K at x = 0.16. The shape of the phase diagram and the changes to the lattice parameters are similar to the effects of other group VIII elements Ni and Pd, however the higher transition temperature and extended range of superconductivity suggest some complexity beyond the simple electron counting picture that has been discussed thus far.
Low-temperature specific heat (SH) is measured for the 12442-type KCa$_2$Fe$_4$As$_4$F$_2$ single crystal under different magnetic fields. A clear SH jump with the height of $Delta C/T|_{T_c}$ = 130 mJ/mol K$^2$ is observed at the superconducting tra nsition temperature $T_c$. It is found that the electronic SH coefficient $Deltagamma (H)$ quickly increases when the field is in the low-field region below 3 T and then considerably slows down the increase with a further increase in the field, which indicates a rather strong anisotropy or multi-gap feature with a small minimum in the superconducting gap(s). The temperature-dependent SH data indicates the presence of the $T^2$ term, which supplies further information and supports the picture with a line-nodal gap structure. Moreover, the onset point of the SH transition remains almost unchanged under the field as high as 9 T, which is similar to that observed in cuprates, and placed this system in the middle between the BCS limit and the Bose-Einstein condensation.
We have grown single crystals of EuFe2As2 and investigated its electrical transport and thermodynamic properties. Electrical resistivity and specific heat measurements clearly establish the intrinsic nature of magnetic phase transitions at 20 K and 1 95 K. While the high temperature phase transition is associated with the itinerant moment of Fe, the low temperature phase transition is due to magnetic order of localized Eu-moments. Band structure calculations point out a very close similarity of the electronic structure with SrFe2As2. Magnetically, the Eu and Fe2As2 sublattice are nearly de-coupled.

Compounds with the A15 structure have attracted extensive attention due to their superconductivity and nontrivial topological band structure. We have successfully grown Nb$_3$Sb single crystals with a A15 structure and systematically measured the lon gitudinal resistivity, Hall resistivity and quantum oscillations in magnetization. Similar to other topological trivial/nontrivial semimetals, Nb$_3$Sb, exhibits large magnetoresistance (MR) at low temperatures (717$%$, 2 K and 9 T), unsaturating quadratic field dependence of MR and up-turn behavior in $rho_{xx}$(emph{T}) curves under magnetic field, which is considered to result from a perfect hole-electron compensation, as evidenced by the Hall resistivity measurements. The nonzero Berry phase obtained from the de-Hass van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations demonstrates that Nb$_3$Sb is topologically nontrivial. These results indicate that Nb$_{3}$Sb superconductor is also a semimetal with large MR and nontrivial Berry phase, indicating that Nb$_{3}$Sb may be another platform to search for Majorana zero-energy mode.
The Abricosov vortex and bundles dynamics was experimentally investigated in Earths magnetic field range. Isothermal relaxation features in YBCO single crystal samples with strong pinning centers were studied for different sample-field orientation. T he normalized relaxation rate S obtained allowed to estimate the effective pinning potential U in the bulk of the YBCO sample and its temperature dependence, as well as the critical current density Jc. A comparison between the data obtained and the results for similar measurements in significantly higher magnetic fields was performed. To compare different Jc measuring techniques magnetization loop M(H) measurements, were made. These measurements provide many important parameters of the sample under study (penetration field Hp, first critical field Hc1, etc.) that contain the geometrical configuration of the samples.
