We present an analysis of nonperturbative contributions to the transverse momentum distribution of $Z/gamma^*$ bosons produced at hadron colliders. The new data on the angular distribution $phi^*_eta$ of Drell-Yan pairs measured at the Tevatron is shown to be in excellent agreement with a perturbative QCD prediction based on the Collins-Soper-Sterman (CSS) resummation formalism at NNLL accuracy. Using these data, we determine the nonperturbative component of the CSS resummed cross section and estimate its dependence on arbitrary resummation scales and other factors. With the scale dependence included at the NNLL level, a significant nonperturbative component is needed to describe the angular data.

Experimental measurements of Drell-Yan (DY) vector-boson production are available from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and from lower-energy collider and fixed-target experiments. In the region of low vector-boson transverse momenta $q_T$, which is i mportant for the extraction of the $W$-boson mass at the LHC, QCD contributions from non-perturbative Sudakov form factors and intrinsic transverse momentum distributions become relevant. We study the potential for determining such contributions from fits to LHC and lower-energy experimental data, using the framework of low-$q_T$ factorization for DY differential cross sections in terms of transverse momentum dependent (TMD) distribution functions. We investigate correlations between different sources of TMD non-perturbative effects, and correlations with collinear parton distributions. We stress the relevance of accurate DY measurements at low masses and with fine binning in transverse momentum for improved determinations of long-distance contributions to Sudakov evolution processes and TMDs.

The hot electroweak potential for small Higgs field values is argued to obtain contributions from a fluctuating gauge field background leading to confinement. The destabilization of F^2=0 and the crossover are discussed in our phenomenological approach, also based on lattice data.
The data taken in Run II at the LHC have started to probe Higgs boson production at high transverse momentum. Future data will provide a large sample of events with boosted Higgs boson topologies, allowing for a detailed understanding of electroweak Higgs boson plus two-jet production, and in particular the vector-boson fusion mode (VBF). We perform a detailed comparison of precision calculations for Higgs boson production in this channel, with particular emphasis on large Higgs boson transverse momenta, and on the jet radius dependence of the cross section. We study fixed-order predictions at NLO and NNLO QCD, and compare the results to NLO plus parton shower (NLOPS) matched calculations. The impact of the NNLO corrections on the central predictions is mild, with inclusive scale uncertainties of the order of a few percent, which can increase with the imposition of kinematic cuts. We find good agreement between the fixed-order and matched calculations in non-Sudakov regions, and the various NLOPS predictions also agree well in the Sudakov regime. We analyze backgrounds to VBF Higgs boson production stemming from associated production, and from gluon-gluon fusion. At high Higgs boson transverse momenta, the $Delta y_{jj}$ and/or $m_{jj}$ cuts typically used to enhance the VBF signal over background lead to a reduced efficiency. We examine this effect as a function of the jet radius and using different definitions of the tagging jets. QCD radiative corrections increase for all Higgs production modes with increasing Higgs boson $p_T$, but the proportionately larger increase in the gluon fusion channel results in a decrease of the gluon-gluon fusion background to electroweak Higgs plus two jet production upon requiring exclusive two-jet topologies. We study this effect in detail and contrast in particular a central jet veto with a global jet multiplicity requirement.

I discuss the contributions of the one-loop single-real-emission amplitudes, $ggto H g$, $qgto H q$, etc. to inclusive Higgs boson production through next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in the strong coupling.
Cross sections and differential distributions for ZA production in association with two jets via vector boson fusion are presented at next-to-leading order in QCD. The leptonic decays of the Z boson with full off-shell effects and spin correlations a re taken into account. The uncertainties due to different scale choices and pdf sets are studied. Furthermore, we analyze the effect of including anomalous quartic gauge couplings at NLO QCD.
