The framework of relativistic energy density functionals is extended to include correlations related to restoration of broken symmetries and fluctuations of collective variables. A new implementation is developed for the solution of the eigenvalue problem of a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian for quadrupole vibrational and rotational degrees of freedom, with parameters determined by constrained self-consistent relativistic mean-field calculations for triaxial shapes. The model is tested in a series of illustrative calculations of potential energy surfaces and the resulting collective excitation spectra and transition probabilities of the chain of even-even gadolinium isotopes.

The impact of beyond mean field effects on the ground state and fission properties of superheavy nuclei has been investigated in a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian based on covariant density functional theory. The inclusion of dynamical correl ations reduces the impact of the $Z=120$ shell closure and induces substantial collectivity for the majority of the $Z=120$ nuclei which otherwise are spherical at the mean field level (as seen in the calculations with the PC-PK1 functional). Thus, they lead to a substantial convergence of the predictions of the functionals DD-PC1 and PC-PK1 which are different at the mean field level. On the contrary, the predictions of these two functionals remain distinctly different for the $N=184$ nuclei even when dynamical correlations are included. These nuclei are mostly spherical (oblate) in the calculations with PC-PK1 (DD-PC1). Our calculations for the first time reveal significant impact of dynamical correlations on the heights of inner fission barriers of superheavy nuclei with soft potential energy surfaces, the minimum of which at the mean field level is located at spherical shape. These correlations affect the fission barriers of the nuclei, which are deformed in the ground state at the mean field level, to a lesser degree.

We report the first global study of dynamic correlation energies (DCEs) associated with rotational motion and quadrupole shape vibrational motion in a covariant energy density functional (CEDF) for 575 even-even nuclei with proton numbers ranging fro m $Z=8$ to $Z=108$ by solving a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian, the collective parameters of which are determined from triaxial relativistic mean-field plus BCS calculation using the PC-PK1 force. After taking into account these beyond mean-field DCEs, the root-mean-square (rms) deviation with respect to nuclear masses is reduced significantly down to 1.14 MeV, which is smaller than those of other successful CEDFs: NL3* (2.96 MeV), DD-ME2 (2.39 MeV), DD-ME$delta$ (2.29 MeV) and DD-PC1 (2.01 MeV). Moreover, the rms deviation for two-nucleon separation energies is reduced by $sim34%$ in comparison with cranking prescription.

We report the recent progress in relativistic mean-field (RMF) and beyond approaches for the low-energy structure of deformed hypernuclei. We show that the $Lambda$ hyperon with orbital angular momentum $ell=0$ (or $ell>1$) generally reduces (enhance s) nuclear quadrupole collectivity. The beyond mean-field studies of hypernuclear low-lying states demonstrate that there is generally a large configuration mixing between the two components $[^{A-1}Z (I^+) otimes Lambda p_{1/2}]^J$ and $[^{A-1}Z (Ipm2 ^+) otimes Lambda p_{3/2}]^J$ in the hypernuclear $1/2^-_1, 3/2^-_1$ states. The mixing weight increases as the collective correlation of nuclear core becomes stronger. Finally, we show how the energies of hypernuclear low-lying states are sensitive to parameters in the effective $N Lambda $ interaction, the uncertainty of which has a large impact on the predicted maximal mass of neutron stars.
Relativistic quantum molecular dynamics based on the relativistic mean field theory (RQMD.RMF) is extended by including momentum-dependent potential. The equation of state (EoS) dependence of the directed and the elliptic flow of protons in the beam energy range of $2.3 < sqrt{s_{NN}}< 20$ GeV is examined. It is found that the directed flow depends strongly on the optical potential at high energies,$sqrt{s_{NN}} > 3 $ GeV, where no information is available experimentally. The correlation between effective mass at saturation density and the optical potential is found: smaller values of effective mass require smaller strengths of the optical potential to describe the directed flow data. This correlation can also be seen in the beam energy dependence of the elliptic flow at $sqrt{s_{NN}}>3$ GeV, although its effect is rather weak. On the other hand, stiff EoS is required to describe the elliptic flow at lower energies.Experimental constraints on the optical potential from $pA$ collisions will provide important information on the EoS at high energies. The proton directed and the elliptic flow are well described in the RQMD.RMF model from $sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.3$ to 8.8 GeV. In contrast,to reproduce the collapse of the directed flow above 10 GeV, pressure has to be reduced, which indicates a softening of the EoS around $sqrt{s_{NN}} =10 $ GeV.

The Boltzmann equation is the traditional framework in which one extends the time-dependent mean field classical description of a many-body system to include the effect of particle-particle collisions in an approximate manner. A semiclassical extensi on of this approach to quantum many-body systems was suggested by Uehling and Uhlenbeck in 1933 for both Fermi and Bose statistics, and many further generalization of this approach are known as the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (BUU) equations. Here I suggest a pure quantum version of the BUU type of equations, which is mathematically equivalent to a generalized Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory extended to superfluid systems.
