Following Diracs ideas concerning the quantization of constrained systems, we suggest to replace the free centre of mass Hamiltonian H_{CM} by another operator which commutes with all the elements of the algebra generated via the commutation relations by H_{CM} and the constraints which fix the centre of mass position. We show that the new Hamiltonian is a multiple of the identity operator and, as a result, its unique effect is to raise the internal energy levels by a constant amount.
Topological entanglement entropy has been extensively used as an indicator of topologically ordered phases. We study the conditions needed for two-dimensional topologically trivial states to exhibit spurious contributions that contaminates topologica
In describing the motion of atoms and clusters, we face with choosing quantum mechanics or classical mechanics under different conditions. In principle, there exist two criteria for this choice, but they do contradict in some cases though they are in
In many quantum architectures the solid-state qubits, such as quantum dots or color centers, are interfaced via emitted photons. However, the frequency of photons emitted by solid-state systems exhibits slow uncontrollable fluctuations over time (spe
We investigate theoretically the suppression of two-body losses when the on-site loss rate is larger than all other energy scales in a lattice. This work quantitatively explains the recently observed suppression of chemical reactions between two rota
Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres in diamond hold promise in quantum sensing applications. A major interest in them is an enhancement of their sensitivity by the extension of the coherence time ($T_2$). In this report, we experimentally generated more th
