We examine the space-time evolution of (pre-)hadron production within the Lund string fragmentation model. The complete four-dimensional information of the string breaking vertices and the meeting points of the prehadron constituents are extracted for each single event in Monte Carlo simulations using the Jetset-part of Pythia. We discuss the implication on the deep inelastic lepton scattering experiments at HERMES as well as on observables in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC, using Pythia also for modeling the hard part of the interaction.

Using QCD-inspired time dependent cross sections for pre-hadrons we provide a combined analysis of available experimental data on hadron attenuation in DIS off nuclei as measured by HERMES with 12 and 27 GeV and by EMC with 100 and 280 GeV lepton bea m energies. We extract the complete four-dimensional evolution of the pre-hadrons using the JETSET-part of PYTHIA. We find a remarkable sensitivity of nuclear attenuation data to the details of the time-evolution of cross sections. Only cross sections evolving linearly in time describe the available data in a wide kinematical regime. Predictions for experimental conditions at JLAB (5 and 12 GeV beam energies) are included.

It is shown that naive two stage scenario of the soft multiparticle production in hadronic and nuclear collisions at high energy, when at first stage the colour strings are formed and at the second stage these strings, or some other (higher colour) s trings formed due to fusion of primary strings, are decaying, emitting observed particles, encounters some difficulties at the attempt to analyse the space-time picture of the process. Simple analysis shows the dominant is the process when the formation and the decay of a string occur in parallel - a string breaks into two parts already at rather small length (about 1-2 fm in its c.m. system), then the process repeats in the pieces and so on. Nevertheless it is proved to be possible to agree the string fusion idea with the space-time picture of a string decay. In the framework of the Artru-Mennessier model of a string fragmentation the simple interpretation of the homogeneity of the rapidity distribution for hadrons produced from the decay of a single string at high energy is presented and the analytical estimate for the density of this rapidity distribution is obtained.
The one- and the two-particle propagators for an infinite non-interacting Fermi system are studied as functions of space-time coordinates. Their behaviour at the origin and in the asymptotic region is discussed, as is their scaling in the Fermi momen tum. Both propagators are shown to have a divergence at equal times. The impact of the interaction among the fermions on their momentum distribution, on their pair correlation function and, hence, on the Coulomb sum rule is explored using a phenomenological model. Finally the problem of how the confinement is reflected in the momentum distribution of the systems constituents is briefly addressed.
A hydrodynamic model coupled to the statistical hadronization code Therminator is used to study a set of observables in the soft sector at RHIC. A satisfactory description of the pT-spectra and elliptic flow is obtained, similarly to other hydrodynam ic models. With the Gaussian initial conditions the transverse femtoscopic radii are also reproduced, providing a possible solution of the RHIC HBT puzzle.

The production of slow nucleons in semi-inclusive deep inelastic electron scattering off nuclei, $A(e, eN)X$, is analyzed for kinematical conditions accessible at $HERA$ with the $HERMES$ detector. The sensitivity of the semi-inclusive cross section to possible medium-dependent modifications of the nucleon structure function is illustrated.
