A description of the virtual photon absorption cross section difference sigma_{1/2}-sigma_{3/2} for the proton and the neutron is obtained with a parameterisation based on a Regge type approach. The parameterisation is obtained from global fits to the cross section data derived from the spin asymmetries measured in DIS of longitudinally polarised leptons from polarised ^1H, ^3He and ^2H targets in the range 0.3 GeV^2 < Q^2 < 70 GeV^2 and 4 GeV^2 < W^2 < 300 GeV^2. The fits give a reliable description of the data and provide predictions for the photo-production through a smooth Q^2-transition. The contribution above the resonance region to the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule for real and virtual photons has been evaluated. For the real photons this contribution accounts for a large fraction of the discrepancy between the sum rule expectations and the single pion photo-production analysis estimates

We calculate moments of the $O(alpha_s^3)$ heavy flavor contributions to the Wilson coefficients of the structure function $F_2(x,Q^2)$ in the region $Q^2gg m^2$. The massive Wilson coefficients are obtained as convolutions of massive operator ma trix elements (OMEs) and the known light flavor Wilson coefficients. The calculation of moments of the massive OMEs involves a first independent recalculation of moments of the fermionic contributions to all 3--loop anomalous dimensions of the unpolarized twist--2 local composite operators stemming from the light--cone expansion cite{url}.

Recently a few authors pointed out that the positroniums give rise to an extra contribution to the electron $g-2$ with the magnitude comparable to the $O(alpha^5)$ perturbative effect, which is not taken into account in the perturbative calculation u p to $O(alpha^5)$. Here, we scrutinize how the positronium resonances contribute to the electron $g-2$ through the vacuum polarization function, and conclude that there is no additional sizable $O(alpha^5)$ contribution to the electron $g-2$.

We test the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn (GDH) sum rule numerically by calculating the total photon absorption cross sections $sigma_{1/2}$ and $sigma_{3/2}$ on the nucleon via photon excitation of baryon resonances in the constituent quark model. A total o f seventeen, low-lying, non-strange baryon resonances are included in this calculation. The transverse and longitudinal interference cross section, $sigma_{1/2}^{TL}$, is found to play an important role in the study of the $Q^2$ variation of the sum rule. The results show that the GDH sum rule is saturated by these resonances at a confidence level of 94%. In particular, the $P_{33}(1232)$ excitation largely saturates the sum rule at $Q^2 = 0$, and dominates at small $Q^2$. The GDH integral has a strong $Q^2$-dependence below $Q^2= 1.0 {GeV}^2$ and changes its sign around $Q^2= 0.3 {GeV}^2$. It becomes weakly $Q^2$-dependent for $Q^2 > 1.0 {GeV}^2$ because of the quick decline of the resonance contributions. We point out that the $Q^2$ variation of the GDH sum rule is very important for understanding the nucleon spin structure in the non-perturbative QCD region.
Empirical formulas for the second inverse moment of the photoabsorption cross sections in nuclei are discussed in J. N. Orce, Phys. Rev. C 91, 064602 (2015). In this Comment I point out that the experimental values used are systematically too small i n heavy nuclei by about 10% because of the neglection of the E1 strength below the neutron threshold. Furthermore, combining recently deduced values of the polarizability in heavy and total photoabsorption data in light nuclei it is demonstrated that the mass number dependence of sigma_(-2) is sensitive to the ratio of volume and surface coefficients of the symmetry energy and parameters different to the ones chosen by Orce may be better suited.
We present measurements of the masses and decay widths of the baryonic states $Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0/++}$ and $Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0/++}$ using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector at th e KEKB $e^{+}e^{-}$ asymmetric-energy collider operating at the $Upsilon(4S)$ resonance. We report the mass differences with respect to the $Lambda_{c}^{+}$ baryon $M(Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0})-M(Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 167.29pm0.01pm0.02$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $M(Sigma_{c}(2455)^{++})-M(Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 167.51pm0.01pm0.02$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $M(Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0})-M(Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 231.98pm0.11pm0.04$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $M(Sigma_{c}(2520)^{++})-M(Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 231.99pm0.10pm0.02$ MeV/$c^{2}$, and the decay widths $Gamma(Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0}) = 1.76pm0.04^{+0.09}_{-0.21}$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $Gamma(Sigma_{c}(2455)^{++}) = 1.84pm0.04^{+0.07}_{-0.20}$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $Gamma(Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0}) = 15.41pm0.41^{+0.20}_{-0.32}$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $Gamma(Sigma_{c}(2520)^{++}) = 14.77pm0.25^{+0.18}_{-0.30}$ MeV/$c^{2}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The isospin mass splittings are measured to be $M(Sigma_{c}(2455)^{++})-M(Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0})=0.22pm0.01pm0.01$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $M(Sigma_{c}(2520)^{++})-M(Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0})=0.01pm0.15pm0.03$ MeV/$c^{2}$. These results are the most precise to date.
