In this preliminary study, we examine the chiral properties of the parametrized Fixed-Point Dirac operator D^FP, see how to improve its chirality via the Overlap construction, measure the renormalized quark condensate Sigma and the topological susceptibility chi_t, and investigate local chirality of near zero modes of the Dirac operator. We also give a general construction of chiral currents and densities for chiral lattice actions.

We present the first set of quenched QCD measurements using the recently parametrized fixed-point Dirac operator D^FP. We also give a general and practical construction of covariant densities and conserved currents for chiral lattice actions. The mea surements include (a) hadron spectroscopy, (b) corrections of small chiral deviations, (c) the renormalized quark condensate from finite-size scaling and, independently, spectroscopy, (d) the topological susceptibility, (e) small eigenvalue distributions and random matrix theory, and (f) local chirality of near-zero modes and instanton-dominance.
We review the spectral flow techniques for computing the index of the overlap Dirac operator including results relevant for SUSY Yang-Mills theories. We describe properties of the overlap Dirac operator, and methods to implement it numerically. We us e the results from the spectral flow to illuminate the difficulties in numerical calculations involving domain wall and overlap fermions.
Chiral properties of QCD formulated with the domain-wall fermion (DWQCD) are studied using the anomalous quark mass m_{5q} and the spectrum of the 4-dimensional Wilson-Dirac operator. Numerical simulations are made with the standard plaquette gauge a ction and a renormalization-group improved gauge action. Results are reported on the density of zero eigenvalue obtained with the accumulation method, and a comparison is made with the results for m_{5q}.
We investigate a chiral property of the domain-wall fermion (DWF) system using the four-dimensional hermitian Wilson-Dirac operator $H_W$. A formula expressing the Ward-Takahashi identity quark mass $m_{5q}$ with eigenvalues of this operator is deriv ed, which well explains the $N_5$ dependence of $m_{5q}$ observed in previous numerical simulations. We further discuss the chiral property of DWF in the large volume in terms of the spectra of $H_W$.

We compute the lattice spacing corrections to the spectral density of the Hermitean Wilson Dirac operator using Wilson Chiral Perturbation Theory at NLO. We consider a regime where the quark mass $m$ and the lattice spacing $a$ obey the relative powe r counting $msim a Lambda_{rm QCD}^2$: in this situation discretisation effects can be treated as perturbation of the continuum behaviour. While this framework fails to describe lattice spectral density close to the threshold, it allows nevertheless to investigate important properties of the spectrum of the Wilson Dirac operator. We discuss the range of validity of our results and the possible implications in understanding the phase diagram of Wilson fermions.
