We report on the magnetic penetration depth, lambda, in a type II superconductor NbB_{2+x} determined by muon spin rotation method. We show in the sample with x=0.1 that lambda at 2.0 K is independent of an applied magnetic field. This suggests that the superconducting order parameter in NbB_{2+x} is isotropic, as expected for conventional BCS superconductors. Meanwhile, the superconducting carrier density (proportional to lambda^{-2}) exhibits an interesting tendency of increase with increasing T_c (where T_c varies with x). Possible origin of such behavior is discussed in comparison with the case of exotic superconductors.

We comparatively investigated the transport properties for S- and Te-substituted FeSe thin films under magnetic fields to clarify the origin of the contrasting behavior of the superconducting transition temperature in S and Te substitution. A classic al two carrier analysis revealed that the carrier densities of the films increased with increasing Te content, while no significant change was observed for the S-substitution. This composition dependence of the carrier density well corresponds to the $T_{mathrm c}$ behavior. The clear correlation between $T_{mathrm c}$ and the carrier densities suggests that the structural transition affects the electronic structure in a different manner between Fe(Se,S) and Fe(Se,Te) and that this fact is the direct cause of the difference in the $T_{mathrm c}$ behaviors at the end point of the structural transition.
We have performed Co-nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) studies on Na$_{x}$CoO$_{2}cdot y$H$_{2}$O compounds with different Na ($x$) and hydrate ($y$) contents. Two samples with different Na contents but nearly the same $T_c$ values ($x$ = 0.348, $T_ c$ = 4.7 K ; $x$ = 0.339, $T_c$ = 4.6 K) were investigated. The spin-lattice relaxation rate $1/T_1$ in the superconducting (SC) and normal states is almost the same for the two samples except just above $T_c$. NQR measurements were also performed on different-hydrate-content samples with different $T_c$ values, which were prepared from the same Na-content ($x$ = 0.348) sample. From measurements of $1/T_1$ using the different-hydrate-content samples, it was found that a low-$T_c$ sample with $T_c = 3.9$ K has a larger residual density of states (DOS) in the SC state and a smaller increase of $1/T_1T$ just above $T_c$ than a high-$T_c$ sample with $T_c$ = 4.7 K. The former behavior is consistent with that observed in unconventional superconductors, and the latter suggests the relationship between $T_c$ and the increase in DOS just above $T_c$. This increase, which is seemingly associated with the two-dimensionality of the CoO$_2$ plane, is considered to be one of the most important factors for the occurrence of superconductivity.

We report the pressure dependence of the superconducting transition temperature, $T_c$, in TlNi$_2$Se$_{2-x}$S$_x$ detected via the AC susceptibility method. The pressure-temperature phase diagram constructed for TlNi$_{2}$Se$_{2}$, TlNi$_{2}$S$_{2}$ and TlNi$_{2}$SeS exhibits two unexpected features: (a) a sudden collapse of the superconducting state at moderate pressure for all three compositions and (b) a dome-shaped pressure dependence of $T_c$ for TlNi$_{2}$SeS. These results point to the nontrivial role of S substitution and its subtle interplay with applied pressure, as well as novel superconducting properties of the TlNi$_2$Se$_{2-x}$S$_x$ system.
Temperature and fluence dependence of the 1.55-eV optical transient reflectivity in BaFe$_{2}$(As$_{1-x}$P$_{x}$)$_{2}$ was measured and analysed in the low and high excitation density limit. The effective magnitude of the superconducting gap of $sim 5$ meV obtained from the low-fluence-data bottleneck model fit is consistent with the ARPES results for the $gamma$-hole Fermi surface. The superconducting-state nonthermal optical destruction energy was determined from the fluence dependent data. The in-plane optical destruction energy scales well with T$_{mathrm{c}}^{2}$ and is found to be similar in a number of different layered superconductors.
We show that electroplated Re films in multilayers with noble metals such as Cu, Au, and Pd have an enhanced superconducting critical temperature relative to previous methods of preparing Re. The dc resistance and magnetic susceptibility indicate a c ritical temperature of approximately 6 K. Magnetic response as a function of field at 1.8 K demonstrates type-II superconductivity, with an upper critical field on the order of 2.5 T. Critical current densities greater than 10^7 A/m^2 were measured above liquid-helium temperature. Low-loss at radio frequency was obtained below the critical temperature for multilayers deposited onto resonators made with Cu traces on commercial circuit boards. These electroplated superconducting films can be integrated into a wide range of standard components for low-temperature electronics.
