We study the reionization histories where ionizing UV photons are emitted from decaying particles, in addition to usual contributions from stars and quasars, taking account of the fact that the universe is not fully ionized until z = 6 as observed by Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Likelihood analysis of the three-year data from the WMAP (Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe) severely constrains the decaying particle scenario. In particular, the decaying particle with relatively short lifetime is not favored by the polarization data.
We show that the delay of structure formation can not fully account for the reduction of electron optical depth from WMAP1 to WMAP3 when the radiative transfer effects and feedback mechanisms are took into account in computing the reionization histor
We present an analysis of the foreground emission present in the WMAP 3-year data as determined by the method of Independent Component Analysis. We derived coupling coefficients between the WMAP data and foreground templates which are then used to in
We perform a blind multi-component analysis of the WMAP 1 year foreground cleaned maps using SMICA (Spectral Matching Independent Component Analysis). We provide a new estimate of the CMB power spectrum as well as the amplitude of the CMB anisotropie
We perform a wavelet analysis of the temperature and polarization maps of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) delivered by the WMAP experiment in search for a parity violating signal. Such a signal could be seeded by new physics beyond the standard
We test the hypothesis that the temperature of the cosmic microwave background is consistent with a Gaussian random field defined on the celestial sphere, using de-biased internal linear combination (DILC) map produced from the 3-year WMAP data. We t
