We investigate the spin excitation spectra in chiral and polar magnets by the linear spin-wave theory for an effective spin model with symmetric and antisymmetric long-range interactions. In one dimension, we obtain the analytic form of the dynamical spin structure factor for proper-screw and cycloidal helical spin states with uniform twists, which shows a gapless mode with strong intensity at the helical wave number. When introducing spin anisotropy in the symmetric interactions, we numerically show that the stable spin spirals become elliptically anisotropic with nonuniform twists and the spin excitation is gapped. In higher dimensions, we find that similar anisotropy stabilizes multiple-$Q$ spin states, such as vortex crystals and hedgehog lattices. We show that the anisotropy in these states manifests itself in the dynamical spin structure factor: a strong intensity in the transverse components to the wave number appears only when the helical wave vector and the corresponding easy axis are perpendicular to each other. Our findings could be useful not only to identify the spin structure but also to deduce the stabilization mechanism by inelastic neutron scattering measurements.

Two ordering states, antiferromagnetism and nematicity, have been observed in most iron-based superconductors (SCs). In contrast to those SCs, the newly discovered SC CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ exhibits an antiferromagnetic (AFM) state, called h edgehog spin-vortex crystal structure, without nematic order, providing the opportunity for the investigation into the relationship between spin fluctuations and SC without any effects of nematic fluctuations. Our $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance studies on CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ (0$le xle$ 0.049) revealed that CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ is located close to a hidden hedgehog SVC AFM quantum-critical point (QCP). The magnetic QCP without nematicity in CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ highlights the close connection of spin fluctuations and superconductivity in iron-based SCs. The advantage of stoichiometric composition also makes CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ an ideal platform for further detailed investigation of the relationship between magnetic QCP and superconductivity in iron-based SCs without disorder effects.
Organic salts represent an ideal experimental playground for studying the interplay between magnetic and charge degrees of freedom, which has culminated in the discovery of several spin-liquid candidates, such as $kappa$-(ET)$_2$Cu$_2$(CN)$_3$ ($kapp a$-Cu). Recent theoretical studies indicate the possibility of chiral spin liquids stabilized by ring-exchange, but the parent states with chiral magnetic order have not been observed in this material family. In this work, we discuss the properties of the recently synthesized $kappa$-(BETS)$_2$Mn[N(CN)$_2$]$_3$ ($kappa$-Mn). Based on analysis of specific heat, magnetic torque, and NMR measurements combined with ab initio calculations, we identify a spin-vortex crystal order. These observations definitively confirm the importance of ring-exchange in these materials, and support the proposed chiral spin-liquid scenario for triangular lattice organics.
Terahertz electromagnetic excitations in the multiferroic TbMnO3 at the field-induced magnetic transition are investigated for different orientations of the magnetic cycloid. In addition to the electromagnon along the a-axis, the detailed polarizatio n analysis of the experimental spectra suggests the existence of an electro-active excitation for ac electric fields along the crystallographic c-axis. This excitation is possibly the electro-active eigenmode of the spin cycloid in TbMnO3, which has been predicted within the inverse Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya mechanism of magnetoelectric coupling.
Magnetism is widely considered to be a key ingredient of unconventional superconductivity. In contrast to cuprate high-temperature superconductors, antiferromagnetism in Fe-based superconductors (FeSCs) is characterized by a pair of magnetic propagat ion vectors. Consequently, three different types of magnetic order are possible. Of theses, only stripe-type spin-density wave (SSDW) and spin-charge-density wave (SCDW) orders have been observed. A realization of the proposed spin-vortex crystal (SVC) order is noticeably absent. We report a magnetic phase consistent with the hedgehog variation of SVC order in Ni- and Co-doped CaKFe4As4 based on thermodynamic, transport, structural and local magnetic probes combined with symmetry analysis. The exotic SVC phase is stabilized by the reduced symmetry of the CaKFe4As4 structure. Our results suggest that the possible magnetic ground states in FeSCs have very similar energies, providing an enlarged configuration space for magnetic fluctuations to promote high-temperature superconductivity.
Nonreciprocal resistance, depending on both directions of current ($j$) and magnetic-field ($H$) or magnetization ($M$), is generally expected to emerge in a chiral conductor, and be maximized for $j$ $parallel$ $H$($M$). This phenomenon, electrical magnetochiral effect (eMChE), is empirically known to increase with $H$ in a paramagnetic or fully ferromagnetic state on chiral lattice or to depend on fluctuation properties of a helimagnetic state. We report here the eMChE over a wide temperature range in the chiral-lattice magnet MnGe in which the spin hedgehog lattice (HL) forms with the triple spin-helix modulation vectors. The magnitude of nonreciprocal resistivity is sharply enhanced in the course of the field-induced structural transition of HL from cubic to rhombohedral form. This is attributed to the enhanced asymmetric electron scatterings by vector spin chirality in association with the large thermal fluctuations of spin hedgehogs.
