Fluctuation theorems are one of the pillars of non-equilibrium thermodynamics. Broadly speaking, they concern the statistical distribution of quantities such as heat, work or entropy production. Quantum experiments, however, usually can only assess these distributions indirectly. In this letter we provide an experimental demonstration of a quantum fluctuation theorem where the distribution of entropy production is obtained directly from the outcomes (clicks) of an optical experiment. The setup consists of entangled photon pairs, one of which is sent an interferometer emulating a finite temperature amplitude damping device. Blocking specific paths of the interferometer is tantamount to restricting the possible configurations of the reservoir. And by measuring its entangled pair, we can directly implement the two-point measurement scheme, thus avoiding the destructive nature of photo-detection.

Two-photon interference of multimode two-photon pairs produced by an optical parametric oscillator has been observed for the first time with an unbalanced interferometer. The time correlation between the multimode two photons has a multi-peaked struc ture. This property of the multimode two-photon state induces two-photon interference depending on delay time. The nonclassicality of this interference is also discussed.
We demonstrate the first 1550 nm correlated photon-pair source in an integrated glass platform-a chalcogenide As2S3 waveguide. A measured pair coincidence rate of 80 per second was achieved using 57 mW of continuous-wave pump. The coincidence to acci dental ratio was shown to be limited by spontaneous Raman scattering effects that are expected to be mitigated by using a pulsed pump source.
We present an experimental demonstration of the full control of the frequency correlations of entangled photon pairs. The joint spectrum of photon pairs is continuously varied from photons that exhibit anticorrelation in frequency to photons that exh ibit correlation in frequency, passing through the case of uncorrelated photons. Highly entangled frequency-anticorrelated photon pairs were obtained even when an ultrafast laser was used as a pump. The different kinds of correlations are obtained without changing neither the wavelength, nor the nonlinear crystal.

The two-photon exclusive production of charged supersymmetric pairs at the LHC has a clean and unique signature - two very forward scattered protons and two opposite charged leptons produced centraly. For low-mass SUSY scenarios, significant cross-se ctions are expected and background processes are well controlled. Measurement of the forward proton energies would allow for mass reconstruction of right-handed sleptons and the LSP with a few GeV resolution. Methods to reduce backgrounds at high luminosity resulting from accidental coincidences between events in the central and forward detectors are discussed.
We study the generation of correlated photon pairs via spontaneous four wave mixing in a 15 cm long micro/nano-fiber (MNF). The MNF is properly fabricated to satisfy the phase matching condition for generating the signal and idler photon pairs at the wavelengths of about 1310 and 851 nm, respectively. Photon counting measurements yield a coincidence-to-accidental ratio of 530 for a photon production rate of about 0.002 (0.0005) per pulse in the signal (idler) band. We also analyze the spectral information of the signal photons originated from the spontaneous four wave mixing and Raman scattering. In addition to discovering some unique feature of Raman scattering, we find the bandwidth of the individual signal photons is much greater than the calculated value for the MNF with homogeneous structure. Our investigations indicate the MNF is a promising candidate for developing the sources of nonclassical light and the spectral property of photon pairs can be used to non-invasively test the diameter and homogeneity of the MNF.
