The fractional dark energy model (FDE) describes the accelerated expansion of the Universe through a nonrelativistic gas of particles with a noncanonical kinetic term. This term is proportional to the absolute value of the three-momentum to the power of $3w$, where $w$ is simply the dark energy equation of state parameter, and the corresponding energy leads to an energy density that mimics the cosmological constant. In this paper we expand the fractional dark energy model considering a non-zero chemical potential and we show that it may thermodynamically describe a phantom regime. The Planck constraints on the equation of state parameter put upper limits on the allowed value of the ratio of the chemical potential to the temperature. In the second part, we investigate the system of fractional dark energy particles with negative absolute temperatures (NAT). NAT are possible in quantum systems and in cosmology, if there exists an upper bound on the energy. This maximum energy is one ingredient of the FDE model and indicates a connection between FDE and NAT, if FDE is composed of fermions. In this scenario, the equation of state parameter is equal to minus one and the transition from positive to negative temperatures happened in the early Universe. NAT may be a new window to explore dark energy.

I discuss the dark energy characterized by the violation of the null energy condition ($varrho + p geq 0$), dubbed phantom. Amazingly, it is admitted by the current astronomical data from supernovae. We discuss both classical and quantum cosmological models with phantom as a source of matter and present the phenomenon called phantom duality.
We analyse the emergent cosmological dynamics corresponding to the mean field hydrodynamics of quantum gravity condensates, in the tensorial group field theory formalism. We focus in particular on the cosmological effects of fundamental interactions, and on the contributions from different quantum geometric modes. The general consequence of such interactions is to produce an accelerated expansion of the universe, which can happen both at early times, after the quantum bounce predicted by the model, and at late times. Our main result is that, while this fails to give a compelling inflationary scenario in the early universe, it produces naturally a phantom-like dark energy dynamics at late times, compatible with cosmological observations. By recasting the emergent cosmological dynamics in terms of an effective equation of state, we show that it can generically cross the phantom divide, purely out of quantum gravity effects without the need of any additional phantom matter. Furthermore, we show that the dynamics avoids any Big Rip singularity, approaching instead a de Sitter universe asymptotically.
This paper is devoted to some simple approach based on general physics tools to describe the physical properties of a hypothetical particle which can be the source of dark energy in the Universe known as phantom. Phantom is characterized by the fact that it possesses negative momentum and kinetic energy and that it gives large negative pressure which acts as antigravity. We consider phantom harmonic oscillator in comparison to a standard harmonic oscillator. By using the first law of thermodynamics we explain why the energy density of the Universe grows when it is filled with phantom. We also show how the collision of phantom with a standard particle leads to exploration of energy from the former by the latter (i.e. from phantom to the standard) if their masses are different. The most striking of our conclusions is that the collision of phantom and standard particles of the same masses is impossible unless both of them are at rest and suddenly start moving with the opposite velocities and kinetic energies. This effect is a classic analogue of a quantum mechanical particle pair creation in a strong electric field or in physical vacuum.
We study the dynamics of a phantom scalar field dark energy interacting with dark matter in loop quantum cosmology (LQC). Two kinds of coupling of the form $alpha{rho_m}{dotphi}$ (case I) and $3beta H (rho_phi +rho_m)$ (case II) between the phantom e nergy and dark matter are examined with the potential for the phantom field taken to be exponential. For both kinds of interactions, we find that the future singularity appearing in the standard FRW cosmology can be avoided by loop quantum gravity effects. In case II, if the phantom field is initially rolling down the potential, the loop quantum effect has no influence on the cosmic late time evolution and the universe will accelerate forever with a constant energy ratio between the dark energy and dark matter.
A possible candidate for the present accelerated expansion of the Universe is phantom energy, which possesses an equation of state of the form $omegaequiv p/rho<-1$, consequently violating the null energy condition. As this is the fundamental ingredi ent to sustain traversable wormholes, this cosmic fluid presents us with a natural scenario for the existence of these exotic geometries. In this context, we shall construct phantom wormhole geometries by matching an interior wormhole solution, governed by the phantom energy equation of state, to an exterior vacuum at a junction interface. Several physical properties and characteristics of these solutions are further investigated. The dynamical stability of the transition layer of these phantom wormholes to linearized spherically symmetric radial perturbations about static equilibrium solutions is also explored. It is found that the respective stable equilibrium configurations may be increased by strategically varying the wormhole throat radius.
