In arXiv:1910.12059 Liu, Palcoux and Wu proved a remarkable necessary condition for a fusion ring to admit a unitary categorification, by constructing invariants of the fusion ring that have to be positive if it is unitarily categorifiable. The main goal of this note is to provide a somewhat more direct proof of this result. In the last subsection we discuss integrality properties of the Liu-Palcoux-Wu invariants.

We build extensions of the arc rings, relate their centers to the cohomology rings of the Springer varieties, and categorify all level two representations of quantum sl(N).
A unitary fusion category is called $mathbb{Z}/2mathbb{Z}$-quadratic if it has a $mathbb{Z}/2mathbb{Z}$ group of invertible objects and one other orbit of simple objects under the action of this group. We give a complete classification of $mathbb{Z}/ 2mathbb{Z}$-quadratic unitary fusion categories. The main tools for this classification are skein theory, a generalization of Ostriks results on formal codegrees to analyze the induction of the group elements to the center, and a computation similar to Larsons rank-finiteness bound for $mathbb{Z}/3mathbb{Z}$-near group pseudounitary fusion categories. This last computation is contained in an appendix coauthored with attendees from the 2014 AMS MRC on Mathematics of Quantum Phases of Matter and Quantum Information.
We address the question whether the condition on a fusion category being solvable or not is determined by its fusion rules. We prove that the answer is affirmative for some families of non-solvable examples arising from representations of semisimple Hopf algebras associated to exact factorizations of the symmetric and alternating groups. In the context of spherical fusion categories, we also consider the invariant provided by the $S$-matrix of the Drinfeld center and show that this invariant does determine the solvability of a fusion category provided it is group-theoretical.

This article investigates duals for bimodule categories over finite tensor categories. We show that finite bimodule categories form a tricategory and discuss the dualities in this tricategory using inner homs. We consider inner-product bimodule categ ories over pivotal tensor categories with additional structure on the inner homs. Inner-product module categories are related to Frobenius algebras and lead to the notion of $*$-Morita equivalence for pivotal tensor categories. We show that inner-product bimodule categories form a tricategory with two duality operations and an additional pivotal structure. This is work is motivated by defects in topological field theories.
From a unifying lemma concerning fusion rings, we prove a collection of number-theoretic results about fusion, braided, and modular tensor categories. First, we prove that every fusion ring has a dimensional grading by an elementary abelian 2-group. As a result, we bound the order of the multiplicative central charge of arbitrary modular tensor categories. We also introduce Galois-invariant subgroups of the Witt group of nondegenerately braided fusion categories corresponding to algebraic number fields generated by Frobenius-Perron dimensions. Lastly, we provide a complete description of the fields generated by the Frobenius-Perron dimensions of simple objects in $mathcal{C}(mathfrak{g},k)$, the modular tensor categories arising from the representation theory of quantum groups at roots of unity, as well as the fields generated by their Verlinde eigenvalues.
