In this report, we present a discussion about different frameworks to perform precise higher-order computations for high-energy physics. These approaches implement novel strategies to deal with infrared and ultraviolet singularities in quantum field theories. A special emphasis is devoted to the local cancellation of these singularities, which can enhance the efficiency of computations and lead to discover novel mathematical properties in quantum field theories.

We compute all helicity amplitudes for four-particle scattering in massless QCD with $n_f$ fermion flavours to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbation theory. In particular, we consider all possible configurations of external quarks and gluons. We evaluate the amplitudes in terms of a Laurent series in the dimensional regulator to the order required for future next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) calculations. The coefficients of the Laurent series are given in terms of harmonic polylogarithms that can readily be evaluated numerically. We present our findings in the conventional dimensional regularisation and in the tHooft-Veltman schemes.

We calculate the parametrically dominant next-to-next-to-leading order corrections to four-fermion production e^- e^+ -> mu^- nubar_mu u dbar + X at centre-of-mass energies near the W-pair production threshold employing the method of unstable-particl e effective theory. In total the correction is small, leading to a shift of 3 MeV in the W-mass measurement. We also discuss the implementation of realistic cuts and provide a result for the interference of single-Coulomb and soft radiative corrections that can easily be extended to include an arbitrary number of Coulomb photons.
It is often said that asymmetric dark matter is light compared to typical weakly interacting massive particles. Here we point out a simple scheme with a neutrino portal and $mathcal{O}(60 text{ GeV})$ asymmetric dark matter which may be added to any standard baryogenesis scenario. The dark sector contains a copy of the Standard Model gauge group, as well as (at least) one matter family, Higgs, and right-handed neutrino. After baryogenesis, some lepton asymmetry is transferred to the dark sector through the neutrino portal where dark sphalerons convert it into a dark baryon asymmetry. Dark hadrons form asymmetric dark matter and may be directly detected due to the vector portal. Surprisingly, even dark anti-neutrons may be directly detected if they have a sizeable electric dipole moment. The dark photons visibly decay at current and future experiments which probe complementary parameter space to dark matter direct detection searches. Exotic Higgs decays are excellent signals at future $e^+ e^-$ Higgs factories.
The four-lepton decay mode of the Higgs boson allows for a clean kinematic reconstruction, thereby enabling precision studies of the Higgs boson properties and of its production dynamics. We compute the NNLO QCD corrections to fiducial cross sections relevant to this decay mode in the gluon-fusion production of a Higgs boson in association with a hadronic jet, and study the impact of the QCD corrections on the fiducial acceptance factors in inclusive Higgs and Higgs-plus-jet production. We investigate in detail the different definitions used in the ATLAS and CMS measurements to define the fiducial cross sections. Differences in the lepton isolation prescription are found to have a sizeable impact on the higher order corrections to the fiducial acceptance factors.

A brief history of the discovery of neutrino oscillations and neutrino mass is presented highlighting the recent breakthrough in the determination of a crucial neutrino parameter by the Daya Bay and RENO reactor experiments. The importance of this pa rameter in the context of one of the goals of the India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) project and also in advancing the frontier of neutrino physics is explained.
