We consider the effect of higher twist operators of the Wilson operator product expansion in the structure function $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ at small-$x$, taking into account QCD effective charges whose infrared behavior is constrained by a dynamical mass scale. The higher twist corrections are obtained from the renormalon formalism. Our analysis is performed within the conventional framework of next-to-leading order, with the factorization and renormalization scales chosen to be $Q^{2}$. The infrared properties of QCD are treated in the context of the generalized double-asymptotic-scaling approximation. We show that the corrections to $F_{2}$ associated with twist-four and twist-six are both necessary and sufficient for a good description of the deep infrared experimental data.

We discuss the longitudinal structure function in nuclear DIS at small $x$. We work within the framework of universal parton densities obtained in DGLAP analyses at NLO. We show that the nuclear effects on the longitudinal structure function closely follow those on the gluon distribution. The error analyses available from newest sets of nuclear PDFs also allow to propagate the uncertainties from present data. In this way, we evaluate the minimal sensitivity required in future experiments for this observable to improve the knowledge of the nuclear glue. We further discuss the uncertainties on the extraction of $F_2$ off nuclear targets, introduced by the usual assumption that the ratio $F_L/F_2$ is independent of the nuclear size. We focus on the kinematical regions relevant for future lepton-ion colliders.
We perform a global analysis of all available spin-dependent proton structure function data, covering a large range of Q^2, 1 < Q^2 < 30 GeV^2, and calculate the lowest moment of the g_1 structure function as a function of Q^2. From the Q^2 dependenc e of the lowest moment we extract matrix elements of twist-4 operators, and determine the color electric and magnetic polarizabilities of the proton to be chi_E = 0.026 +- 0.015 (stat) + 0.021/-0.024 (sys) and chi_B = -0.013 -+ 0.007 (stat) - 0.010/+0.012 (sys), respectively.

The twist--2 heavy flavor contributions to the polarized structure function $g_2(x,Q^2)$ are calculated. We show that this part of $g_2(x,Q^2)$ is related to the heavy flavor contribution to $g_1(x,Q^2)$ by the Wandzura--Wilczek relation to all order s in the strong coupling constant. Numerical results are presented.
We update QCD calculations of $B to pi, K$ form factors at large hadronic recoil by including the subleading-power corrections from the higher-twist $B$-meson light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) up to the twist-six accuracy and the strange-qua rk mass effects at leading-power in $Lambda/m_b$ from the twist-two $B$-meson LCDA $phi_B^{+}(omega, mu)$. The higher-twist corrections from both the two-particle and three-particle $B$-meson LCDAs are computed from the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSR) at tree level. In particular, we construct the local duality model for the twist-five and -six $B$-meson LCDAs, in agreement with the corresponding asymptotic behaviours at small quark and gluon momenta, employing the QCD sum rules in heavy quark effective theory at leading order in $alpha_s$. The strange quark mass effects in semileptonic $B to K$ form factors yield the leading-power contribution in the heavy quark expansion, consistent with the power-counting analysis in soft-collinear effective theory, and they are also computed from the LCSR approach due to the appearance of the rapidity singularities. We further explore the phenomenological aspects of the semileptonic $B to pi ell u$ decays and the rare exclusive processes $B to K u u$, including the determination of the CKM matrix element $|V_{ub}|$, the normalized differential $q^2$ distributions and precision observables defined by the ratios of branching fractions for the above-mentioned two channels in the same intervals of $q^2$.
We determine the masses and decay constants of pseudoscalar mesons $ D $, $ D_s $, and $ K $ in quenched lattice QCD with exact chiral symmetry. For 100 gauge configurations generated with single-plaquette action at $ beta = 6.1 $ on the $ 20^3 times 40 $ lattice, we compute point-to-point quark propagators for 30 quark masses in the range $ 0.03 le m_q a le 0.80 $, and measure the time-correlation functions of pseudoscalar and vector mesons. The inverse lattice spacing $ a^{-1} $ is determined with the experimental input of $ f_pi $, while the strange quark bare mass $ m_s a = 0.08 $, and the charm quark bare mass $ m_c a = 0.80 $ are fixed such that the masses of the corresponding vector mesons are in good agreement with $ phi(1020) $ and $ J/psi(3097) $ respectively. Our results of pseudoscalar-meson decay constants are $ f_K = 152(6)(10) $ MeV, $ f_D = 235(8)(14)$ MeV, and $ f_{D_s} = 266(10)(18) $ MeV.
