We prove a version of Jonsson-Mustac{t}v{a}s Conjecture, which says for any graded sequence of ideals, there exists a quasi-monomial valuation computing its log canonical threshold. As a corollary, we confirm Chi Lis conjecture that a minimizer of the normalized volume function is always quasi-monomial. Applying our techniques to a family of klt singularities, we show that the volume of klt singularities is a constructible function. As a corollary, we prove that in a family of klt log Fano pairs, the K-semistable ones form a Zariski open set. Together with [Jia17], we conclude that all K-semistable klt Fano varieties with a fixed dimension and volume are parametrized by an Artin stack of finite type, which then admits a separated good moduli space by [BX18, ABHLX19], whose geometric points parametrize K-polystable klt Fano varieties.

In this note, we survey our recent work concerning cohomologies of harmonic bundles on quasi-compact Kaehler manifolds.
We give three proofs that valuation rings are derived splinters: a geometric proof using the absolute integral closure, a homological proof which reduces the problem to checking that valuation rings are splinters (which is done in the second authors PhD thesis and which we reprise here), and a proof by approximation which reduces the problem to Bhatts proof of the derived direct summand conjecture. The approximation property also shows that smooth algebras over valuation rings are splinters.

We consider the following interference model for wireless sensor and ad hoc networks: the receiver interference of a node is the number of transmission ranges it lies in. We model transmission ranges as disks. For this case we show that choosing tran smission radii which minimize the maximum interference while maintaining a connected symmetric communication graph is NP-complete.
Let $L$ be a fixed branch -- that is, an irreducible germ of curve -- on a normal surface singularity $X$. If $A,B$ are two other branches, define $u_L(A,B) := dfrac{(L cdot A) : (L cdot B)}{A cdot B}$, where $A cdot B$ denotes the intersection numbe r of $A$ and $B$. Call $X$ arborescent if all the dual graphs of its resolutions are trees. In a previous paper, the first three authors extended a 1985 theorem of P{l}oski by proving that whenever $X$ is arborescent, the function $u_L$ is an ultrametric on the set of branches on $X$ different from $L$. In the present paper we prove that, conversely, if $u_L$ is an ultrametric, then $X$ is arborescent. We also show that for any normal surface singularity, one may find arbitrarily large sets of branches on $X$, characterized uniquely in terms of the topology of the resolutions of their sum, in restriction to which $u_L$ is still an ultrametric. Moreover, we describe the associated tree in terms of the dual graphs of such resolutions. Then we extend our setting by allowing $L$ to be an arbitrary semivaluation on $X$ and by defining $u_L$ on a suitable space of semivaluations. We prove that any such function is again an ultrametric if and only if $X$ is arborescent, and without any restriction on $X$ we exhibit special subspaces of the space of semivaluations in restriction to which $u_L$ is still an ultrametric.
