A triaxial projected shell model including configurations with more than four quasiparticles in the configuration space is developed, and applied to investigate the recently reported five chiral doublets candidates in a single even-even nucleus $^{136}$Nd. The energy spectra and transition probability ratios $B(M1)/B(E2)$ are reproduced satisfactorily. The configuration mixing along the rotational bands is studied by analyzing the intrinsic composition of the eigenfunctions. The chiral geometry of these nearly degenerate bands is examined by the textit{K plot} and the textit{azimuthal plot}, and the evolution from the chiral vibration to the static chirality with spin is clearly demonstrated for four pairs of partner bands. From the features in the textit{azimuthal plot}, it is difficult to interpret the other candidate as chiral partners.

The pheomenological Generalized Coherent State Model Hamiltonian is amended with a many body term describing a set of nucleons moving in a shell model mean-field and interacting among themselves with paring, as well as with a particle-core interactio n involving a quadrupole-quadrupole and a hexadecapole-hexdecapole force and a spin-spin interaction. The model Hamiltonian is treated in a restricted space consisting of the core projected states associated to the bands ground, $beta, gamma, widetilde{gamma}, 1^+$ and $widetilde{1^+}$ and two proton aligned quasiparticles coupled to the states of the ground band. The chirally transformed particle-core states are also included. The Hamiltonian contains two terms which are not invariant to the chiral transformations relating the right handed trihedral $({bf J_F}, {bf J_p}, {bf J_n})$ and the left handed ones $(-{bf J_F}, {bf J_p}, {bf J_n})$, $({bf J_F}, -{bf J_p}, {bf J_n})$, $({bf J_F}, {bf J_p}, -{bf J_n})$ where ${bf J_F}, {bf J_p}, {bf J_n}$ are the angular momenta carried by fermions, proton and neutron bosons, respectively. The energies defined with the particle-core states form four chiral bands, two of them being degenerate. Electromagnetic properties of the chiral bands are investigated. Results are compared with the experimental data on $^{138}$Nd.

We calculate the mass of the vector meson in the chiral symmetry restored vacuum. This is accomplished by separating the four quark operators appearing in the vector and axial vector meson sum rules into chiral symmetric and symmetry breaking parts d epending on the contribution of the fermion zero modes. We then identify each part from the fit to the vector and axial vector meson masses. By taking the chiral symmetry breaking part to be zero while keeping the symmetric operator to the vacuum value, we find that the chiral symmetric part of the vector and axial vector meson mass to be between 550 and 600 MeV. This demonstrates that chiral symmetry breaking, while responsible for the mass difference between chiral partner, accounts only for a small fraction of the symmetric part of the mass.
Two newly observed bands built on a two-quasiparticle configuration in 130Ba have been investigated for the first time with the microscopic projected shell model. The experimental energy spectra and the available electromagnetic transition probabilit ies are well reproduced. The wobbling character of the higher band is revealed by the angular momentum projected wavefunctions via the K plot and the azimuthal plot. This provides the first strong microscopic evidence for wobbling motion based on a two-quasiparticle configuration in even-even nuclei.

A reflection-asymmetric triaxial particle rotor model with three quasiparticles and a reflection-asymmetric triaxial rotor is developed, and applied to investigate the observed multiple chiral doublets (Mc{hi}D) candidates with octupole correlations in 131Ba, i.e., two pairs of positive-parity bands D3-D4 and D5-D6, as well as one pair of negative-parity bands D7-D8. The energy spectra, the energy staggering parameters, the B(M1)/B(E2) ratios, and the B(E1)/B(E2) ratios are reproduced well. The chiral geometries for these Mc{hi}D candidates are examined by the azimuthal plots, and the evolution of chiral geometry with spin is clearly demonstrated. The intrinsic structure for the positive-parity bands is analyzed and the possible pseudospin-chiral quartet bands are suggested.
Background: A global description of the ground-state properties of nuclei in a wide mass range in a unified manner is desirable not only for understanding exotic nuclei but for providing nuclear data for applications. Purpose: We demonstrate the KIDS functional describes the ground states appropriately with respect to the existing data and predictions for a possible application of the functional to all the nuclei by taking Nd isotopes as examples. Method: The Kohn-Sham-Bogoliubov equation is solved for the Nd isotopes with the neutron numbers ranging from 60 to 160 by employing the KIDS functionals constructed to satisfy both neutron-matter equation of state or neutron star observation and selected nuclear data. Results: Considering the nuclear deformation improves the description of the binding energies and radii. We find that the discrepancy from the experimental data is more significant for neutron-rich/deficient isotopes and this can be made isotope independent by changing the slope parameter of the symmetry energy. Conclusions: The KIDS functional is applied to the mid-shell nuclei for the first time. The onset and evolution of deformation are nicely described for the Nd isotopes. The KIDS functional is competent to a global fitting for a better description of nuclear properties in the nuclear chart.
