This study aims timing the eclipses of the short period low mass binary star AB And. The times of minima are taken from the literature and from our observations in October 2013 (22 times of minima) and in August 2014 (23 times of minima). We find and discuss an inaccuracy in the determination of the types of minima in the previous investigation by citet{li2014}. We study the secular evolution of the central binarys orbital period and the possibility of the existence of third and fourth companions in the system.

We have studied the corona as seen at the eclipses of 1878, 1900, 1901 and others. These eclipses occurred during extended sunspot minimum conditions. We compare these data with those of the recent solar minimum corona, using data from the eclipses o f July 22 2009 and August 1 2008. An attempt to characterize the global solar magnetic fields is made. We speculate on the origin of the non-dipolar structure seen in the 2008 and 2009 eclipse images.
Results of UBVRIJHKLM photometry, VRI polarimetry and optical spectroscopy of a young star RW Aur A obtained during 2010-11 and 2014-16 dimming events are presented. During the second dimming the star decreased its brightness to Delta V > 4.5 mag, po larization of its light in I-band was up to 30%, and color-magnitude diagram was similar to that of UX Ori type stars. We conclude that the reason of both dimmings is an eclipses of the star by dust screen, but the size of the screen is much larger than in the case of UXORs.
We report the discovery of a new totally-eclipsing binary (RA=06:40:29.11; Dec=+38:56:52.2; J=2000.0; Rmax=17.2 mag) with an sdO primary and a strongly irradiated red dwarf companion. It has an orbital period of Porb=0.187284394(11) d and an optical eclipse depth in excess of 5 magnitudes. We obtained two low-resolution classification spectra with GTC/OSIRIS and ten medium-resolution spectra with WHT/ISIS to constrain the properties of the binary members. The spectra are dominated by H Balmer and He II absorption lines from the sdO star, and phase-dependent emission lines from the irradiated companion. A combined spectroscopic and light curve analysis implies a hot subdwarf temperature of Teff(spec) = 55 000 +/- 3000K, surface gravity of log g(phot) = 6.2 +/- 0.04 (cgs) and a He abundance of log(nHe/nH) = -2.24 +/- 0.40. The hot sdO star irradiates the red-dwarf companion, heating its substellar point to about 22 500K. Surface parameters for the companion are difficult to constrain from the currently available data: the most remarkable features are the strong H Balmer and C II-III lines in emission. Radial velocity estimates are consistent with the sdO+dM classification. The photometric data do not show any indication of sdO pulsations with amplitudes greater than 7mmag, and Halpha-filter images do not provide evidence of the presence of a planetary nebula associated with the sdO star.
Continuous photometry with up to three BRITE satellites was obtained for 12 targets and subjected to a period search. Contemporaneous high-resolution optical spectroscopy with STELLA was used to obtain radial velocities through cross correlation with template spectra as well as to determine astrophysical parameters through a comparison with model spectra. The Capella red light curve was found to be constant over 176 days with a root mean square of 1 mmag, but the blue light curve showed a period of 10.1$pm$0.6 d, which we interpret to be the rotation period of the G0 component. The BRITE light curve of the F0 supergiant $varepsilon$Aur suggests 152 d as its main pulsation period, while the STELLA radial velocities reveal a clear 68 d period. An ingress of an eclipse of the $zeta$Aur binary system was covered with BRITE and a precise timing for its eclipse onset derived. $eta$Aur is identified as a slowly pulsating B (SPB) star with a main period of 1.29 d and is among the brightest SPB stars discovered so far. The rotation period of the magnetic Ap star $theta$Aur is detected from photometry and spectroscopy with a period of 3.6189 d and 3.6177 d, respectively, likely the same within the errors. Photometric rotation periods are also confirmed for the magnetic Ap star $tau$Aur of 2.463 d and for the solar-type star $kappa^1$Cet of 9.065 d, and also for the B7 HgMn giant $beta$Tau of 2.74 d. Revised orbital solutions are derived for the eclipsing SB2 binary $beta$Aur, for the 27 year eclipsing SB1 $varepsilon$Aur, and for the RS CVn binary HR 1099. The two stars $ u$ Aur and $iota$Aur are found to be long-term, low-amplitude RV and brightness variables, but provisional orbital elements based on a period of 20 yr and an eccentricity of 0.7 could only be extracted for $ u$Aur. The variations of $iota$Aur are due to oscillations with a period of $approx$4 yr.

Aims: We aim to perform the first long-term analysis of the system HS Hya. Methods: We performed an analysis of the long-term evolution of the light curves of the detached eclipsing system HS Hya. Collecting all available photometric data since its d iscovery, the light curves were analyzed with a special focus on the evolution of systems inclination. Results: We find that the system undergoes a rapid change of inclination. Since its discovery until today the systems inclination changed by more than 15 deg. The shape of the light curve changes, and now the eclipses are almost undetectable. The third distant component of the system is causing the precession of the close orbit, and the nodal period is about 631 yr. Conclusions: New precise observations are desperately needed, preferably this year, because the amplitude of variations is decreasing rapidly every year. We know only 10 such systems on the whole sky at present.
