Aims: We aim to perform the first long-term analysis of the system HS Hya. Methods: We performed an analysis of the long-term evolution of the light curves of the detached eclipsing system HS Hya. Collecting all available photometric data since its discovery, the light curves were analyzed with a special focus on the evolution of systems inclination. Results: We find that the system undergoes a rapid change of inclination. Since its discovery until today the systems inclination changed by more than 15 deg. The shape of the light curve changes, and now the eclipses are almost undetectable. The third distant component of the system is causing the precession of the close orbit, and the nodal period is about 631 yr. Conclusions: New precise observations are desperately needed, preferably this year, because the amplitude of variations is decreasing rapidly every year. We know only 10 such systems on the whole sky at present.
We discuss the current status of the sample of Lithium abundances in extremely metal poor (EMP) turn-off (TO) stars collected by our group, and compare it with the available literature results. In the last years, evidences have accumulated of a progr
We present Li and Fe abundances for 87 stars in the GC M4,obtained with GIRAFFE high-resolution spectra. The targets range from the TO up to the RGB Bump. The Li abundance in the TO stars is uniform, with an average value A(Li)=2.30+-0.02 dex, consist
Extended main-sequence turn-offs (eMSTO) are a commonly observed property of young clusters. A global theoretical interpretation for the eMSTOs is still lacking, but stellar rotation is considered a necessary ingredient to explain the eMSTO. We aim t
We use the Wide Field Camera 3 onboard the Hubble Space Telescope to obtain deep, high-resolution photometry of the young (~ 100 Myr) star cluster NGC1850 in the Large Magellanic Cloud. We analyze the cluster colour-magnitude diagram (CMD) and find t
We find that Coulomb focusing persists even when the Coulomb field is barely noticeable compared with the laser field. Delayed recollisions proliferate in this regime and bring back energy slightly above the 3.17 U_p high-harmonic cutoff, in stark co
