A symmetry-preserving treatment of a vector-vector contact interaction is used to study charmed heavy-light mesons. The contact interaction is a representation of nonperturbative kernels used in Dyson-Schwinger and Bethe-Salpeter equations of QCD. The Dyson-Schwinger equation is solved for the $u,,d,,s$ and $c$ quark propagators and the bound-state Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes respecting spacetime-translation invariance and the Ward-Green-Takahashi identities associated with global symmetries of QCD are obtained to calculate masses and electroweak decay constants of the pseudoscalar $pi,,K$, $D$ and $D_s$ and vector $rho$, $K^*$, $D^*$, and $D^*_s$ mesons. The predictions of the model are in good agreement with available experimental and lattice QCD data.

We study charmed baryon resonances that are generated dynamically from a coupled-channel unitary approach that implements heavy-quark symmetry. Some states can already be identified with experimental observations, such as $Lambda_c(2595)$, $Lambda_c( 2660)$, $Sigma_c(2902)$ or $Lambda_c(2941)$, while others need a compilation of more experimental data as well as an extension of the model to include higher order contributions. We also compare our model to previous SU(4) schemes.
Both unitary chiral theories and lattice QCD simulations show that the $DK$ interaction is attractive and can form a bound state, namely, $D^*_{s0}(2317)$. Assuming the validity of the heavy antiquark-diquark symmetry (HADS), the $Xi_{cc}bar{K}$ inte raction is the same as the $DK$ interaction, which implies the existence of a $Xi_{cc}bar{K}$ bound state with a binding energy of $49-64$ MeV. In this work, we study whether a $Xi_{cc}Xi_{cc}bar{K}$ three-body system binds. The $Xi_{cc}Xi_{cc}$ interaction is described by exchanging $pi$, $sigma$, $rho$, and $omega$ mesons, with the corresponding couplings related to those of the $NN$ interaction via the quark model. We indeed find a $Xi_{cc}Xi_{cc}bar{K}$ bound state, with quantum numbers $J^P=0^-$, $I=frac{1}{2}$, $S=1$ and $C=4$, and a binding energy of $80-118$ MeV. It is interesting to note that this system is very similar to the well-known $NNbar{K}$ system, which has been studied extensively both theoretically and experimentally. Within the same framework, we show the existence of a $NNbar{K}$ state with a binding energy of $35-43$ MeV, consistent with the results of other theoretical works and experimental data, which serves as a consistency check on the predicted $Xi_{cc}Xi_{cc}bar{K}$ bound state.
We examine charmed-strange mesons within the framework of the constituent quark model, focusing on the states with L=1. We are particularly interested in the mixing of two spin-states that are involved in $D_{s1}(2536)$ and the recently discovered $D _{sJ}(2460)$. We assume that these two mesons form a pair of states with J=1. These spin-states are mixed by a type of the spin-orbit interaction that violates the total-spin conservation. Without assuming explicit forms for the interactions as functions of the interquark distance, we relate the matrix elements of all relevant spin-dependent interactions to the mixing angle and the observed masses of the L=1 quartet. We find that the spin-spin interaction, among various types of the spin-dependent interactions, plays a particularly interesting role in determining the spin structure of $D_{s1}(2536)$ and $D_{sJ}(2460)$.
We present spectra of highly excited D and Ds mesons up to around 3.8 GeV determined using dynamical lattice QCD. We employ novel computational techniques and the variational method with a large basis of carefully constructed operators in order to ex tract and reliably identify the continuum spin of an extensive set of excited states. These include states with high spin and states identified as having an explicit gluonic contribution. Calculations were performed on two volumes, both with a pion mass of approximately 400 MeV, achieving a high statistical precision for both ground and excited states. We discuss our results in light of experimental observations, comment on the phenomenological implications and identify the lightest `supermultiplet of hybrid mesons in each sector.

We investigate tensor mesons as quark-antiquark bound states in a fully covariant Bethe-Salpeter equation. As a first concrete step we report results for masses of J^{PC}=2^{++} mesons from the chiral limit up to bottomonium and sketch a comparison t o experimental data. All covariant structures of the fermion-antifermion system are taken into account and their roles and importance discussed in two different bases. We also present the general construction principle for covariant Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes of mesons with any spin and find eight covariant structures for any J>0.
