We numerically investigate the effect of phase-amplitude coupling modulation on power spectra in semiconductor lasers subject to optical injection in a face to face configuration, when a non-negligible injection delay time is taken into account. We find that as phase-amplitude coupling factor alpha varies, the system goes through a sequence of phase transactions between In-phase locking states to anti-phase locking states via phase-flip bifurcation. Moreover, we observed the signature of frequency discretization (Frequency Island) and uncovered the physical mechanism for the existence of multi-stability near the phase transitions regimes. Within the windows between successive anti-phases to in-phase locking regions, optical injection induced modulation in alpha, unveiling a remarkable universal feature in the various dynamics of coupled lasers system which could be useful in controlling the chirp or pulse repetition rate of a photonic integrated compact device with the aid of phase control.
We theoretically study chaos synchronization of two lasers which are delay-coupled via an active or a passive relay. While the lasers are synchronized, their dynamics is identical to a single laser with delayed feedback for a passive relay and identi
We derive rigorous conditions for the synchronization of all-optically coupled lasers. In particular, we elucidate the role of the optical coupling phases for synchronizability by systematically discussing all possible network motifs containing two l
A unique approach for steady in-phase locking of lasers in an array, regardless of the array geometry, position, orientation, period or size, is presented. The approach relies on the insertion of an intra-cavity Gaussian aperture in the far-field pla
We describe passive phase-locking architectures based on external-cavity setups to improve the brightness of diode laser bars. Volume Bragg gratings are used to stabilize the lase line. Numerical modelling and experimental results will be presented.
Detailed experimental and theoretical investigations on two coupled fiber lasers, each with many longitudinal modes, reveal that the behavior of the longitudinal modes depends on both the coupling strength as well as the detuning between them. For lo
