We study noncentrosymmetric superconductors with the tetrahedral $T_d$, tetragonal $C_{4v}$, and cubic point group $O$. The order parameter is computed self-consistently in the bulk and near a surface for several different singlet to triplet order parameter ratios. It is shown that a second phase transition below $T_c$ is possible for certain parameter values. In order to determine the surface orientations effect on the order parameter suppression, the latter is calculated for a range of different surface orientations. For selected self-consistent order parameter profiles the surface density of states is calculated showing intricate structure of the Andreev bound states (ABS) as well as spin polarization. The topologys effect on the surface states and the tunnel conductance is thoroughly investigated, and a topological phase diagram is constructed for open and closed Fermi surfaces showing a sharp transition between the two for the cubic point group $O$.

Majorana corner modes appearing in two-dimensional second-order topological superconductors have great potential applications for fault-tolerant topological quantum computations. We demonstrate that in the presence of an in-plane magentic field two-d imensional ($s+p$)-wave superconductors host Majorana corner modes, whose location can be manipulated by the direction of the magnetic field. In addition, we discuss the effects of edge imperfections on the Majorana corner modes. We describe how different edge shapes and edge disorder affect the number and controllability of the Majorana corner modes, which is of relevance for the implementation of topological quantum computations. We also discuss tunneling spectroscopy in the presence of the Majorana corner modes, where a lead-wire is attached to the corner of the noncentrosymmetric superconductor. The zero-bias differential conductance shows a distinct periodicity with respect to the direction of the magnetic field, which demonstrates the excellent controllability of the Majorana corner modes in this setup. Our results lay down the theoretical groundwork for observing and tuning Majoran corner modes in experiments on ($s+p$)-wave superconductors.

We consider a general Hamiltonian describing coexistence of itinerant ferromagnetism, spin-orbit coupling and mixed spin-singlet/triplet superconducting pairing in the context of mean-field theory. The Hamiltonian is diagonalized and exact eigenvalue s are obtained, thus allowing us to write down the coupled gap equations for the different order parameters. Our results may then be applied to any model describing coexistence of any combination of these three phenomena. As a specific application of our results, we consider tunneling between a normal metal and a noncentrosymmetric superconductor with mixed singlet and triplet gaps. The conductance spectrum reveals information about these gaps in addition to how the influence of spin-orbit coupling is manifested. We also consider the coexistence of itinerant ferromagnetism and triplet superconductivity as a model for recently discovered ferromagnetic superconductors. The coupled gap equations are solved self-consistently, and we study the conditions necessary to obtain the coexistent regime of ferromagnetism and superconductivity. Analytical expressions are presented for the order parameters, and we provide an analysis of the free energy to identify the preferred system state. Moreover, we make specific predictions concerning the heat capacity for a ferromagnetic superconductor. In particular, we report a nonuniversal relative jump in the specific heat, depending on the magnetization of the system, at the uppermost superconducting phase transition. Topological superconductors, such as noncentrosymmetric superconductors with strong spin-orbit coupling, exhibit protected zero-energy surface states, which possess an intricate helical spin structure. We show that this nontrival spin character of th e surface states can be tested experimentally from the absence of certain backscattering processes in Fourier-transform scanning tunneling measurements. A detailed theoretical analysis is given of the quasiparticle scattering interference on the surface of both nodal and fully gapped topological superconductors with different crystal point-group symmetries. We determine the universal features in the interference patterns resulting from magnetic and nonmagnetic scattering processes of the surface quasiparticles. It is shown that Fourier-transform scanning tunneling spectroscopy allows us to uniquely distinguish among different types of topological surface states, such as zero-energy flat bands, arc surface states, and helical Majorana modes, which in turn provides valuable information on the spin and orbital pairing symmetry of the bulk superconducting state.

We examine intrinsic interfaces separating crystalline twin domains of opposite spin-orbit coupling in a noncentrosymmetric superconductor such as CePt3Si. At these interfaces, low-energy Andreev bound states occur as a consequence of parity-mixed Co oper pairing, and a superconducting phase which violates time reversal symmetry can be realized. This provides an environment allowing flux lines with fractional flux quanta to be formed at the interface. Their presence could have strong implications on the flux creep behavior in such superconductors.

The surface terminations of 122-type alkaline earth metal iron pnictides AEFe2As2 (AE = Ca, Ba) are investigated with scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS). Cleaving these crystals at a cryogenic temperature yields a large majority of terminations with atomically resolved square-root-two (rt2) or 1*2 lattice, as well as the very rare terminations with 1*1 symmetry. By means of lattice alignment and chemical marking, we identify these terminations as rt2-AE, 1*2-As, and rt2-Fe surfaces, respectively. Layer-resolved spectroscopy on these terminating surfaces reveals a well-defined superconducting gap on the As terminations, while the gap features become weaker and absent on AE and Fe terminations respectively. The local gap features are hardly affected by the surface reconstruction on As or AE surface, whereas a suppression of them along with the in-gap states can be induced by As vacancies. The emergence of two impurity resonance peaks at +-2 meV is consistent with the sign-reversal pairing symmetry. The definite identification of surface terminations and their spectroscopic signatures shall provide a more comprehensive understanding of the high-temperature superconductivity in multilayered iron pnictides.
