By intercalation of alkaline-earth metal Sr in Bi2Se3, superconductivity with large shielding volume fraction (~91.5% at 0.5 K) has been achieved in Sr0.065Bi2Se3. The analysis of the Shubnikov-de Hass oscillations confirms the 1/2-shift expected from a Dirac spectrum, giving transport evidence of the existence of surface states. Importantly, the SrxBi2Se3superconductor is stable under air, making the SrxBi2Se3 compound an ideal material base for investigating topological superconductivity.
Quantum materials with non-trivial band topology and bulk superconductivity are considered superior materials to realize topological superconductivity. In this regard, we report detailed Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations and Z2 invaraints
We report transverse-field (TF) muon spin rotation experiments on single crystals of the topological superconductor Sr$_x$Bi$_2$Se$_3$ with nominal concentrations $x=0.15$ and $0.18$ ($T_c sim 3$ K). The TF spectra ($B= 10$ mT), measured after coolin
Spontaneous symmetry breaking has been a paradigm to describe the phase transitions in condensed matter physics. In addition to the continuous electromagnetic gauge symmetry, an unconventional superconductor can break discrete symmetries simultaneous
We study the low-energy surface electronic structure of the transition-metal dichalcogenide superconductor PdTe$_2$ by spin- and angle-resolved photoemission, scanning tunneling microscopy, and density-functional theory-based supercell calculations.
The engineering of Majorana zero modes in topological superconductors, a new paradigm for the realization of topological quantum computing and topology-based devices, has been hampered by the absence of materials with sufficiently large superconducti
