The analysis of exclusive meson leptoproduction (DVMP) within the handbag approach is reviewed and the parametrization of the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) is discussed in some detail with the main interest focused of the GPDs H and E. Applications of the GPDs extracted from DVMP to other hard exclusive processes as for instance deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) and an evaluation of Jis sum rule are also presented.

Nucleon elastic and transition form factors at high momentum transfer -t are treated in terms of generalized parton distributions in a two-body framework. In this framework the high -t dependence of the form factors give information about the high k_ perp, or short distance b_perp correlations of nucleon model wave functions. Applications are made to elastic and resonance nucleon form factors, and real Compton Scattering.
We explicitly demonstrate how to correctly define the hadronic parton distributions (PDFs, TMDs, and GPDs) in the soft-wall AdS/QCD approach, based on the use of a quadratic dilaton field, providing confinement and spontaneous breaking of conformal a nd chiral symmetries. The power behavior of parton distributions at large values of the light-cone variable is consistent with quark counting rules and Drell-Yan-West duality. All parton distributions are defined in terms of profile functions, which depend on the light-cone coordinate and are fixed from PDFs and electromagnetic form factors.

Forward photoproduction of $J/psi$ can be used to extract Generalized Parton Distributions(GPDs) of gluons. We analyze the process at twist-3 level and study relevant classifications of twist-3 gluon GPDs. At leading power or twist-2 level the produc ed $J/psi$ is transversely polarized. We find that at twist-3 the produced $J/psi$ is longitudinally polarized. Our study shows that in high energy limit the twist-3 amplitude is only suppressed by the inverse power of the heavy quark mass relatively to the twist-2 amplitude. This indicates that the power correction to the cross-section of unpolarized $J/psi$ can have a sizeable effect. We have also derived the amplitude of the production of $h_c$ at twist-3, but the result contains end-point singularities. The production of other quarkonia has been briefly discussed.
Deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) and timelike Compton scattering (TCS) leading twist amplitudes are intimately related thanks to their analytic properties as a function of $Q^2$. We exploit this feature to use Compton form factors previously extracted from available DVCS data and derive data-driven predictions for TCS observables to be measured in near future experiments. Our results quantitatively illustrate the complementarity of DVCS and TCS experiments.
